I'll play test if you need another player.

I'm still waiting for MrSpkr to send me my start up turn. I've been back from vacation for a week and haven't been able to get the game started.
-
I'm in. E-amil sent.
-
It appears that most of Section 2-4 has dissapeared. Where are you guys?
-
I would like to play in the torunament. I think I'm in good standing from the last ROW tpurnament in CMBO.
-
The actual number isn't as easy to come up with as realizing that almost every company of infantry had a heavy weapons platoon. The US ratio was one 'zook per platoon of infantry, the German slightly higher due to the 'disposable' nature of the 'faust.

That's one old Medal of Honor, WW I at the latest.Originally posted by Pvt. Ryan:Print out these images, cut out the medals, and tape them to your monitor when you feel a particular soldier is deserving:
Also, the ribbon above the medal is upside down. The stars form an 'M' when the ribbon is worn correctly.

Treeburst,
I sent in an e-mail reply and am looking foward to playing.

I've got one game still out there and haven't sent in any AAR's because I thought I was going to finish the last game quickly. My opponent has dropped off again.

Not only that, but the M-1 in the picture hasOriginally posted by BloodyBucket:Good looking work. The Garand doesn't have
the correct WWII style locking bar on the rear
sight, and if you look real close, you can see
that the serial number indicates it was built
by Winchester in 1943, so it is obvious that it
is a reworked piece.
Also, the chamber brush in the cleaning kit
is not the early style that was part of the
combination tool. Other than that, it's great!
the stamped trigger guard. All Winchesters used
the milled unit. The safety is wrong, and the
finnish is way too coarse for WW II Winchester
parkerization. Probably an 'import'.

Yes, your german is quite bad. Volk is pronounced just like it sounds. The 'W' in VW is pronounced 'vagon'.
ked them away to Middle Asia...

One of the things SLAM pointed out was that better training got better results in terms of rounds down range. Two very good books on the general subject of the psychology of killing are:

The US went to smokeless powder after the Spanish Mausers caused them so much trouble in Cuba. Any large volume of fire using 'smokeless' powder will leave a discolored cloud hanging around the fighting position. The further away you are the easier it is to see it.Originally posted by MajorBooBoo:The US forces (someone MUST have been getting a kickback), used non-smokeless powder in their small arms in WWII. This continued into the Korean War (mostly because they had stocks of it). I dont know if there is a game that uses this info (maybe panzer elite).
The US MGs in korea were limited in tactics because of this. They would develop a cloud after awhile and the enemy could mortar the position out of existance. You could follow the tracers back to teh cloud of smoke. BARs took on a new role as mobile MG substitute so that the real MGs could lay in wait.

I'd answer this one in two parts.
Static
Any SP without a turretr Hetzer or Stug. As long as you can plan your fields of fire you won't get flanked unless your opponent really works on it.
Manuver
PZ IV in the front, Panther in overwatch. Once you open the range up over 500m, the Panther is very hard to kill from the front. PZ IV's carry a large enough HE load that if they out advance their infantry they stand a chance of staying alive.
Gamey
Any King or Super thing.

Back when I was a grunt, we didn't want to be anywhere near tanks, firing or not. The muzzle blast alone is enough to make you stay away, never mind the sabot parts. If your fighting position is correctly built, you have protection from the rear against small arms and other 'light' weapons. I got out before the sabot round became wide spread so I don't know how they handle it now.

what in the 9 heavens is a ack-ack?Originally posted by JunoReactor:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />My boys are advancing to contact and start getting chewed up by an infantry gun or ack-ack.
I heard this in Hostile Waters (a solid underdog action game) and I thought it was something the pilot who spoke it made up. Now, it could mean a AA gun or a howitzer, or, I could be completely off the mark.</font>

Treeburst, I need the 'gotta get up' german first turn.
-
Might be nice if I had Ubre's e-mail. None of my games got past four turns, so send me the setup please.
-
I got to turn 4 with Rother and turn 2 with his replacement. I also have a turn labeled
fishvssgtgold2. I think it's from flyinghellfish but I could be wrong.
-
I've finished one game and am recieving turns from Cooper. The Aussie is no where in site and I've forgotten who the last player is because I haven't seen a turn this year.
-
I have found that if you use one of the grass mods that has grid lines it makes it easier to get the lay of the land.
-
Message to all group #1 players, LETS MOVE IT! I haven't seen a turn from some of you in over a week.

Part of the problem with doing waaaaay too much research on any subject is you can't quite recall where you read something. Anyway, I did read somewhere that the the French attacked singing, the English shouting, but the Americans in silence. It was the silence that bothered the Germans most.

I lost very very few vehicles in the final scenario while killing almost all of the Russian armor including the T-34's. What I didn't have time to do was roll up through the middle of the town and reduce the isolated Russian infantry. If it weren't for what was possibly the worst streak of bad luck I've ever had in a game, I would have come out of the thrid scenario with a better point total and a solid second place in my division.
