  1. I still am unable to download the CMBB patch from any of the three sites. I've tried a number of times on a 56k modem, and get to around the 16.5Mb point when I get a popup window telling me that the download is complete. Of course it doesn't install properly if I try to run the patch. I've tried deleting temporary internet files (explorer 5.5) and increasing my cache size, but that was about 500mB anyway. Any suggestions?
  2. I have tried to download the CMBB v1.01 patch from 3 different sites (the main and the two mirrors) using a standard 56k dial-up connection. Each time I get to about the 15-16 MB point and then the pop-up window 'download complete' appears. I know that it is supposed to be a 25MB patch, so I wasn't surprised when I tried to run the patch and it didn't install properly. The error messgae I got was CRC failed BMP\14825.bmp unexpected end of archive I'm presuming that this bmp is the point at which the download failed. Would any of the programs that allow you to carry on a download from a point where it was interrupted help? I'm not sure if they will since I'm getting the 'download complete' message. I'd appreciate any advice. Cheers [ November 29, 2002, 05:15 PM: Message edited by: oskacat ]
  3. Same same - $100 AUD and about 10 days delivery. It's the wrong forum but anyway, if anyone in Aus wants an TCP/IP game of either CMBB or CMBO let me know - I can't really play with big time zone differences (kids and all).
  4. I've been downloading lots of mods for CMBO since it was released but I've never used the CMMOS program to swap between mod types. How difficult would it be for me now to implement CMMOS to let me swap mod types around? At present all my zip mod files are sitting in a separate folder within the CMBO folder and I just unzip them into the .BMP folder when I install them. I also have a separate folder which contains the batch files that came with several mods (such as Fernandos plain/bi/tri - coloured vehicles, etc). Do I have to re-install all the original CMBO .bmp files and then overwrite them using the CMMOS program, or can I just install it and then carry on from where I am now? Cheers
  5. Can anyone point me towards agood winter mod for the British Sherman/Firefly variants? Cheers
  6. I tride the 4n1 driver pack and the audio driver from Via but I've still got the same problem (although it did last longer before falling over this time). I checked the device manager again and the only thing I can see repeated more than once is - "ACPI IRQ holder for PCI IRQ steering". This is in both #10 with the via audio controller and #12 with the modem. I think that this may have appeared as a result of implementing the driver pack I mentioned above.
  7. Thanks for the suggestion. I should have mentioned that I am running ME. I looked as you suggested, but the only audio listing I could see (VIA AR'97 audio controller) has # 10 beside it while the modem has # 12.
  8. I am running an MSI K7T Pro 2 mobo with on board sound. Whenever I go on-line I lose all sound from any games I am playing, or music CD I am listening to. This makes it very hard to play CM online! I guess there is some conflict between the modem and the mobo. Sometimes the sound will disappear within seconds, while at other times it can take up to 5 minutes. The sound is replaced by a high-pitched tone from the speakers. Can anyone help shed some light on this problem. Thanks No good trying to fight a first class enemy unless the soldiers are absolutely on their toes......They must have the light of battle in their eyes......They must be full of 'binge'. 9. I have no sound probs when I play CM in the one player mode, however when I play over the net I lose all sound as soon as the games connect and start uploading scenario information. I'm only running the on-board sound one my MSI K7T Pro 2 mobo - would a separate sound card help? Also, does anyone know if there are any plans to allow play via a direct dial-up modem option so that you don't have to go through the internet to play people who live locally?
