  3. Does any one know if i will be able to see fog on my ATI Rage card with CMBB are Battlefront going to incorporate a new fog emulation table that my damn card can read ?
  4. Hi Venjra Moterized units were used by pretty much all of the armies on the Western front during this time- essentially a moterised unit is a unit that has its own integral vehicle detchment such as trucks, for the Germans I believe they were mainly empoyed with the Panzer Grenadier regiments and were designed to allow the infantry to keep up with advancing armour- though these units would most probably be designated as "Mechanised" Ie armoured Halftracks rather than trucks, I believe that Moterised / Mechanised units also had complements of self propelled artillery Tank destroyers etc wheras straightforward infantry made do with horsedrawn equipment and trucks to tow Guns etc. Hope this is of some use, im sure there are others out there who have a far more detailed apprasal than i have given
  5. Hi everyone I am in the process of converting Xavier Degrands excellent scenario "Lingevres" into an operation, scenario is based on the 9th Battalion Durham light Infantry's attack on that village which was held by the 902 Panzer Grenadier regiment of the Panzer Lehr Division. I have good source matiral regarding the Durhams order of battle and setup, but am having difficulties with the Panzer Lehrs. If any one can help by providing infomation or directing me to sources i would be most grateful. specifacally i am trying to find out whether the village was held by one entire battalion of that particularr regiment with reinforcements provided by the second battalion, or whether the village was held by just elements of ist battalion with support coming from the remainder as the battle progressed.also if anyone has info regard arillery availability or posittions for the Pz Lehr thaen that would also be groovy. I am in contact with the author of the scenario and hopefully he will be able to provide me with the info but if any of you nice people out there can assist i would be most appreciative thanks Panzer Meyer.
  6. The NKVD did perform though admittidly problably only in desperate times front line activity- as mentioned there was a division of them in the early fighting for Stalingrad- is there a reason why they might not be represented in CMBB- afterall if there is goingto be a frenzy of new troop nationalities etc then it seems the NKVD as a specific organisation should at least be represented- only my humble sugeestion
  7. Sorry if this has all been covered but i tend to live in a dream world did you just say no NKVD in CM2? surely the NKVD were a major part of the make up of the Russian army - the feared political soldiers / secret police who had such an influence on keeping less fanatical units in the frontline there was a whole division of them during the Battle of Stalingrad fighting in the frontline?
  8. Hi all, I apologise in advance if this has been the subject of a fierce debate in the last few weeks- but I cant seem to get the search tool to work.... My query is , will CM2 model the use of Russian Punishment Battalions / companies? specifically- each "wave" of cannon fodder being closely followed by an NKVD platoon ready to mow them down if they try to run away. I dont know how hard this would be to code but i would have thought an extra order option that is unique to an NKVD security platoon would be groovy. I know this is a tactic used on a large scale by the russians, especially early in the war when they were so short of equipment- and had to rely on desperate measures, this suggestion would also apply to the herding of conscript and green troops into battle. any thoughts any one ?
  9. Sorry people, i know this should really be posted in tech support but there does seem to be a lot more traffic thru this forum. Basically I dont see any fog even when its set as thick fog with all effects enabled in the menu.It does still work out the LOS restrictions. Do you think this is a card issue (ATI Rage 128/ DirectX 6 )or is it a version issue which is 1.12. I would be v. grateful if someone could shed some light.
  10. There seems to be this tradition of taking our furry cousins and using them in ways that are quite clearly in breach of contract. The ancient romans for example were known to cover a herd of pigs in tar-set fire to them and send them off towards some unsuspecting barbarian.....I wonder if this is where we get the term streaky bacon (Streakum Porcum possibly)
