That area denial, turret stream-drop beginning of that last game was awesome....if you had told me in the first few minutes that Phantom and I would make a game of it I wouldn't have believed you. Great game seesawing game....Originally posted by Junglist:Been on vacation for awhile and I'm glad to see you guys are still at it! I haven't had a chance to read any of the threads yet (except a quick peak at the tourney - which I gotta say is a great idea) but I look forward mixing it up again soon. See you on the battlefield.

That was rather sneaky with the infantry at the north bridge head! </font>Originally posted by rua'anith:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Redcon-5:

I dropped into Dry Gulch for the last game of the day and help rua'anith try to take and hold that damn bridge...that was a nice battle. Lots of long distance HEAT throwing to interdict the defenders reinforcement. Redcon and company really threw the kitchen sink at us.

Actually, you will see alot of cinderblock in the Middle East. That won't do much to stop a round.Originally posted by Raptor 2101:@Darkmath: you Know that most houses builded in ME, are not using steal ore stones? Most used material are loam bricks ore even a loam / mud mix if you go to the slums... and a single loam brick doesn't stopp a .50 bullet...

Regarding Member # 9810: Right...so your helped write a buggy game and now you're whinging about this one. But it wasn't your fault, now you'd know better and you'd do it differently if you could....I'm sure Charles is crushed to know it. Good on ya! Cheers!

I was completely confused by that phenomenon today as I was trying to spot what I know suppose wass you and I couldn't figure out what the turrets were firing at yet the bots around me were entirely passive. Did you get a kick out of me spinning in circles trying to find you? Also, is it me or are the bots incredibly accurate with HEAT at a very long distance?Originally posted by poesel71:I walked (!) down the northern canyon from the east with inf in sea cliffs and I had two bot tanks on the road below me. They didn't even react when I started dropping grenades on them. OTOH jby had some turrets much farther away in the stone rubble on the west side and they were happily shooting at me.
I don't think this is intentional and its very annoying.

Ah...I suppose you don't explain to the infantry exactly what their role in the op is then.....Originally posted by CrimsonDestiny:Infantry meat shields.

It was fun to be back....I forgot how fast and furious it gets. One thing I am wondering is whether anyone has come up with a good cutter protection strategy?

Hey Clay...I sent you that email but I suspect my email got caught in your spam blocker. Shoot me the setup at waboyle@aol.com. Thanks.Originally posted by ClaytoniousRex:Email me directly to get setup.

Lost it all.Originally posted by ClaytoniousRex:I love unexpected new computers.
Did you originally have the download or hard version? Have you lost the original download?

Hey folks,
I got a new computer unexpectedly and now don't know how to reinstall dropteam. Any thoughts?

Nice rampage...

hehe, no matter how hard you try, in "house to house" the involuntary bot-cutter charge is the bane of the unwary team. </font>Originally posted by __Yossarian0815[jby]:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by bboyle:
jby, that was a fun game...I was lucky to stumble on five or six of their cutters and knock them out all at once.

jby, that was a fun game...I was lucky to stumble on five or six of their cutters and knock them out all at once. I think that forced jung, et alia out of their game and let me simply hunt the rest of the cutters and avoid difficult engagements. I do think the Ariel is pretty powerful but it is very vulnerable to arty and for some reason is an ATGM magnet. The bots crushed me the other day with mortars and shrikes.

Hey Noach...excellent game the other night.

Poesal,
I've been trying out CZ a fair amount lately and must say excellent job! The nebelwerfer paladin, the amped infantry and the other mods really change the game in interesting ways. Good stuff.

ditto for meOriginally posted by Junglist:For me its something like DP 40ms and CZ 140ms.

I also have been lurking, waiting for the next CM and interested in seeing how ToW turns out. Meanwhile, War in the Pacific have filled my PBEM crave. Nothing like a 3 year PBEM game to keep you on your toesOriginally posted by Chad Harrison:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Major Catastrophe:
Forgive me - its been a huge amount of time since i last posted - 2001/2 i think. I have lurked, and now wait patiently for CM:SF, but when i was last here Fionn seemed to be doing whole swathes of AARs as the Germans and i spent days reading them - they were great - did it all go wrong, or have i got the wrong man
Good to see many of the other 'old timers' still around and supporting the CM series.

Would a Grozny scenario be possible?

My favorite (and all too infrequent) moment is the long range engine kill with a HEAT on a moving target. Chambering the coup de grace is almost a let down.
I'm back
