1.
quote:
Originally posted by Derfel: Health and Confusion to your enemies!

Now why do you wanna go and wish health to Wild Bill's enemies - not that he actually has any?
 2. It's official - it was the Deanco interface that was the problem. I should have noted that fix the second time I downloaded it. Well live and learn and much thanks for all the assistance.
 3. Thanks gentlemen! I'm not at the computer with the problem, but I'm sure your suggestions will do the trick. I bet it is the DeanCo mod that is the problem as I downloaded it and then down loaded tank girl at a later date and then went back to Deanco. The problem probably started with Deanco and didn't get changed in any subsequent modding. Panzer Leader's description sounds exactly right. I will look for the fix.
 4. Shrullenhaft, I do have the 23.1.1 drivers, but I've also had several earlier versions with the same result. Per your previous post, I played around with the FSAA settings, including turning it off, with no luck. Your picture shows the "label" text which is similar to mine = no problem there. It's the Landmark text which is the problem. It comes out large and blotchy as if the text in your picture were doubled in size and then smeared. Thanks
 5. Schrullenhaft here are the specs you requested: PC; Windows98; original Geforce DDR; newest detonators from the Nvidia site. I have had the same problem for a while even though I only recently upgraded the drivers. Thanks!
 6. I'd suggest spending the extra points and purchasing the new and improved 105mm umbrellas. Of course, if he hits you with 150mm you might regret that decision.
 7. Referring to my earlier post regarding blocky, unreadable landmark text - is there no one there to help? My problem is that I'm playing the famed Fertile Fields scenario and it is very helpful to be able to read that text - unfortunately with my font problem - I can't. Thanks again for any help.
 8. When I play using my home computer the text of the landmarks is big and blocky. When I play elsewhere the the text is crisp. Is there any way to change the font or is it possibly any of my interface mods that's causing the problem? Thanks in advance!
 9.
quote:
Originally posted by Dogface21: I have'nt been confirmed yet, but I hope so!

With a face like that, how could we do anything but take you back? In fact, we're all dog-faces. We're all very, very different. But there is one thing that we all have in common - we were all stupid enough to enlist in this tourney!
 10.
quote:
Originally posted by Dogface21: Holy shiite!(like the Islamic sect, seriously)

You see J. Trap - other people make silly Sunni/Shiite references too. I'm not that obscure. Rob PS Sorry if I'm dragging you down in the mire with me Dogface, but you were formerly of the esteemed Section Three - so you do deserves some dragging. 11. Congratulations Wild Bill! I wouldn't worry about Madmatt as I recently read a little known Battlefront bylaw that there is one exception to the Only One Exception clause to OT posts. Can't recall the number or the exact wording, but it was something like "An Exception to the Exception Rule will be made for lunatic scenario designers posting regarding their first and any future great grandchildren." I now take even greater pride in my Meeting of Devils dedication!
 12.
quote:
Originally posted by White4: Why I will win one of my scenarios: On close inspection, my historical heroes contain a tanker named "WB Wilder." He had to have lived in order to spawn someone else named Wilder, (probably Gene), so that means I'll have an invulnerable tank the entire game! Who needs tactics?

Sorry White4, but Gene Wilder's parents were named William J. and Jeanne (Baer) Silberman. And he was born in 1933 - long before your battle took place. In fact his name was originally Jerome Silberman. Maybe Billy Wilder's your guy - but alas, I think he was born before even Gene. So I wouldn't stick that Tanker's neck out too far.
 13. I agree with Mr. Trap that weather changes would also be nice, but I thought I'd make a more reasonable and static change request first. Although reasonableness is certainly in the eye of the beholder. I think both would greatly enhance the flexibility of factors with which scenario designers could ply their trade. Which certainly makes for a more interesting product. As for those commenting on the length of game not being long enough for a relevant change of light conditions, I would just say -
 14. This may also have been discussed. How about an option to define the time of the start of the battle? That way a game that started at dusk could inch its way (or abruptly change depending on how difficult this would be to implement) to becoming night with all the inherent relevant changes taking effect. And vice versa with nightime becoming day during a long early morning battle. I think this could have very interesting and real effect on how battles are fought.
 15. Section 3: My normal e-mail is out of commission for ??? Please send items to leetleb@hotmail.com until further notice - that includes anything that you may have sent recently that I have not responded to. I assume I will have trouble with large files, but at least I can respond via e-mail and let you know the status of things.
 16. Hopefully (fingers crossed) you have to send them to Treeburst.
 17.
quote:
Originally posted by Rex_Bellator: Well I'm amazed to see Scandinavians quoting Hollywood suffixes in a vague attempt to sound 'cool'. Please guys, you kicked my old country's ass, don't lower yourselves to that as we'll feel even worse about ourselves

Huh? What on earth are you referring to?
 18. He shoots - he scores! Now if I could only kill that damn Sherman that's disturbed my nights. [ 11-30-2001: Message edited by: Lopaka ]

 19. Actually Warhammer, our little battle is a completely different but equally disturbing blight upon my existence - damn brewing up/sight obscuring [redacted]! But more importantly, with this post, I may be finally joining the fraternity and losing my lurker badge of ill-repute...
 20. Any children in this thread please close you eyes for three words: Goddamit! Goddamit!! Goddamit!!! Ok, you can look again. WTF - Did Wild Bill rewrite to code to make my stupid, freaking troops act as incompetently and moronically as possible? Someone's going to have to explain to me why all my units want to be on the same spot. They're all trying to play King of the Mountain. Only problem is there is no mountain and none of them will be king because they'll all be DEAD! Damn them and him and Steve and Charles while I'm at it. ok I'm better now.
 21. Aha! I thought my mildly abusive posts might elicit some response from you Mr. Wreck. I will consult the pseudo-girlfriend regarding the potential for Sunday. I will also work on bouncing back a turn. I had slight trepidation in sending you a turn back because I didn't want a situation to arise where one of us had seen more than the other and have also had a chance to dwell on it before the TCP activitiy began - I'm even worse at TCP than at PBEM CM. As long as we end up on the same foot, I'm game.
 22.
quote:
Orginally posted by Sgt. Kelly: Why did our thread get locked and not the "real" Nordics ????

Simmer down you from the not so brilliant as Section 3, Section - although a very reasonable section, I'm sure. All the great threads get locked. It's like a Rite of Passage. It is proof of our greatness. It is something that the other Nordic Tourney thread dreams of obtaining. With enough tutelage from this great thread, they might just get there some day.
 23. Madmatt requesteth, so Madmatt receiveth - not that he left us with much choice by locking up our humble little thread. But on to business... Wreck wrote:
quote:
Yo section 3... my status. In short: everyone owes me a turn, as I see it. So I am wondering what two of you are talking about. The specific breakdown: Commissar: no problems, mate. Let's try to set a TCP date sometime. Lopaka: I have gotta get up 01 on my drive. Same deal as above.

Mr. Wreck now I'm not sure if your mind is failing, but was it not you that requested TCP/IP? And was it not I who have written you several times regarding times I was available or requesting that you let me know when is good for you? If you want to play PBEM, which is my preference anyways - say the word. If you want to play TCP/IP then SPECIFY A TIME! And don't worry I'm not annoyed - just bemused. Still waiting...
