  1. All that is a great help. We have a G5 dual for 'serious' work but have kept our old G3 for some old apps and just to have a second station in case my wife and I both have needs at the same time. Plus we have a couple old PB's, but they're too hard to keep current, so we were thinking about getting rid of three units and replacing it with one PB. Both the G4/800 and 1GB sound workable, so I'll start hunting around (if someone doesn't beat me to it ). Were those video options stock or purchased separately? Thanks again! Todd
  2. Greetings all! I'm looking to replace my Beige G3 with a Powerbook, but I want to get one that will be bootable into OS9, and will run all the Combat Mission games. Looks like the G4/800 is the latest model that will do that, but I'm not so sure what the current crop of workable video options are. So, I looking for info on what folks with G4 Powerbooks have found to work (RAM and VRAM info might be helpful as well), so I can go hunting for the system. Many thanks in advance! Todd
  3. Well, I have only 2MB of RAM so I guess I using the ancient model. It's odd, but before we did all the system changes the game would switch from the set resolution to the game resolution and back without a problem. Have to blame it on space aliens I guess... Thanks for the help! Srdftr
  4. Thanks for the help Ben! I'm running a G3 beige, with a MaxPowr 500 processor board. I haven't added in a video board so I gues I'm using whatever is native. I tried the pref trashing, but that had no effect. It created a new pref file without going thru the set-up. Should I trash everything and re-install? Thanks again! Srdftr
  5. Greetings! Maybe someone can help me with a little problem. When I fire up CM, I get a letterbox version of the game screen. If I set the res to 640 x 480 before I start the game, it looks just fine. The res is normally at 1024 x 768. This started after we made a number of changes: upgraded to MacOS 9.1 from 8.6 and added a new mouse driver for an USB mouse using a PCI card. Not a biggie but I suspect it may be something simple to fix. Thanks! Srdftr
