Morphing Cell

The "14" Naval Artillery" thread reminds me that I haven't seen it yet since I got the game a few weeks ago. So I started looking for the 14", but I couldn't find it! Is there a built-in scenario that has the 14"? I tried to find it in the scenario builder, but strangely I couldn't find it.

Indeed, as Lugnut points out, version 3.78 of NVIDIA driver for W2k does NOT have the problem! Since I use an plain old TNT card, I guess I don't miss out that much by using version 3.78. [This message has been edited by Morphing Cell (edited 01-05-2001).]

I use a Creative Labs Graphics Blaster RIVA TNT under Windows 2000 and I have the same problem with the menu too. Lugnut's alt-tab suggestion does make the menu look normal, until a battle is played and the menu appears wrong again. (Alt-tab now would again make the menu normal.) I wonder if you also have this problem: The after-battle report has the 3D battlefield as its background, rather than the white background as it is supposed to have. This problem is apparently related to transparency.

Hi, everyone. I just got CM several days ago and I think CM is indeed a great game. I am a little disappointed, however, that the manual doesn't explain the purposes of different types of weapons (only ammunitions). And I haven't found a web page that explains this. Since I know very little about weapons, I feel kind of lost. For example, what is a rifle best for? A submachine gun? Why are there 10 semi-automatic rifles, a submachine gun, and an automatic rifle in an American rifle squad? Why aren't all rifles automatic? What is a recoilless rifle? What are the differences among an AT gun, a tank destroyer, and artillery? What is the advantage of a tank destroyer compared to a tank, when a tank can destroy other tanks too? And where can I read descriptions of combat vehicles in WW2? Thank you all.
