  1. My suggestion would be to have an elected censor board of three ( 3 ) people. The time period should be six ( 6 ) months intervals and the person cannot be elected two time periods in a row.

The group also needs a charter for posts, as a framework for the board members. My suggestion is as follows:

    1) Are, within reason, on the topic of combat mission

    2) Are not abusive in nature

    3) Do not contain personal and/or libelous attacks on others

    4) Are not flagrant commercial exhortations

    5) Are not of questionable legal status.

These loose guidelines are open to interpretation for each group of board members.

Those in favour of an elected censor board say AYE.

Those against an elected censor board say NAY.

Hey, if it works, why change it? We still use Vietnam era M35 trucks and M113s, but our truck fleet was recently grounded for corroded rims. frown.gif

The Coyote is cutting edge though, and the LAV III is also being adopted by the US forces. Our recent frigate class was judged to be one of the best designs in the world.

It's kind of feast or famine up here. We are finally getting camouflage uniforms (for all the difference they make) and I think I am scheduled to get mine in 2002. We recently got new winter kit and it is the best stuff I've ever seen. Unfortuntately we have other priorities up here, like universal health care wink.gif

    Hi,

You forgot to mention they are cutting the Air Force in half, with mothballing and lower flying hours.

I was on the Frigate HMCS Ottawa. Allot of features in such a small ship. I would hate to be on one for a long time. It is just to small for me !

I like Aircraft Carrier battle groups myself cool.gif

Not sure what this means !

    When I re-target my 81mm there is a 1 or 2 minute delay not a 10-15 second delay.

1 to 2 minutes at arty time can be as much as double the regular clock !

Let's be realistic here. You do not need a grenade to kill a halftrack from 10 meters. Just blow the driving compartment away with a submachine gun.

If they make to easy to kill a HT, they will have to lower the purchase price. It will just be a bit stronger than a Jeep !!

He sends three M3A1 halftracks racing through my lines up this hill. Amazingly, they all make it! I send some troops chasing after them to kill them.

For 5 turns three squads throw a hundred or so grenades at these tracks, for zero effect. Nothing. I eventually kill one with a Schreck, but from a range as short as 5m, not one of my squads can kill an open toppped half track by close assault.

These seems odd to me, so I set up a test scenario. Three fallschirmjager squads, three tracks. open ground, set up at about 15m. Every time the tracks run away, I order them back into the circle of squads.

5 turns later, not a single track is dead. The squads (I removed their fausts, BTW) throw dozens upon dozens of grenades. They shoot, they spit, they use harsh language.

    Nothing. The tracks all live.

This was already discussed in the Jeep vs Halftrack thread at alt.games.combat-mission.

It is not a bug, it the parameters written into the software.

Seems Napster is going to get into games as well. Now you won't even have to pay people like Charles, Steve and Co. for their hard work, as everything should be free for download....

Now we all know that nobody wants to sit through several hundred megs of downloading a game, but with today's high-speed access services is this really a problem? What if Napster includes a resumable-download for this? mad.gifmad.gif

Yes, you information does not sound inaccurate. Napster shall attempt to force gaming companies to pay them to charge for downloads.

700 megs, a cable modem at 500K per minute can download that quick as a bunny !

What I would like to see is movie downloads, every movie you could ever want categorized and searchable, maybe $ 2.00 each, good price and a great deal, just like Amazon.com and books !
