APPLE EXPO, PARISþSeptember 10, 2002þApple® today announced that starting in January 2003, all new Mac® models will only boot into Mac® OS X as the start-up operating system, though they will retain the ability to run most Mac OS 9 applications through Apple's bundled Classic software. There are nearly 4,000 native applications now available for Mac OS X.

I hope battlefront would solve OSX problem before 2003...

I was wondering if there's some kind of *patch* that allows you to run without the cd?

Patching is illegal and violating License Agreement.

But what you can do w/o violating EULA (at least i believe its legal) - is to create full CD image and save it on the HD.

Mount CD image before playing and enjoy.

  3. Thanks for info, Madmatt.

I have installed 9.2.1 because many Open-GL based games runs better on it. I am getting better framerates in WarBirds III and WWII Online. New NVidia drivers (2.3) and OpenGL 1.2.3 seems to be the reason.

Unfortuanly CMBO is not OpenGL-based, its QuickDraw 3D RAVE - based. And seems Apple gonna drop RAVE support soon :(

So i can play CMBO at my office comp (with ATI RAGE 128 card), but it is crashed on my home comp (NVidia card).

So im looking forward for new versions/patches smile.gif

  4. Hello all.

After upgrading to MacOS 9.2.1 my Combat Mission crashing at launch.

It is occur before as soon as i launching it, the screen going black and then "Error type 2". It was working fine on MacOS 9.1

This problem is always reproducable on both comp, home G4/400 512 RAM MacOS 9.2.1 NVidia 2 MX, and office G4/466 256 RAM MacOS 9.2.1 ATI RAPE Pro 16 Mb.

Any tips/suggestion? May be it is type for CM 1.13 release?

  5. G4/400 here 512 RAM.

Last weekend upgraded it with GeForce 2 MX, mostly because of WWII Online huge requirements.

Card was originaly manufactured for PC (ASUS 7100), but i flashed it wih Mac ROM and its now works.

Didnt checked if sky texture bug is went away with new Apple/NVidia version 2.1.1 drivers...

Its all in russian, but you can look and photos and i could translate some fragments if you want.

Remember, Soviet Army didnt tryed to use this rifles against Tigers and Panters. This weapon was widely used in the early period of war, mostly against PzKw III and less armored vehicles.

  7. Under MacOS, you can make disk image with Disk Copy utility, which is came with the system. Then you have CD image on your hard disk (its about 310Mb size), you can just mount it with doble-click, and it will apear on desktop. I am using disk image and minimal install - this is freeing me from keeping CD in the drive during game.

Sorry, I do not know if this will work under Windows.

  8. Hello, Battlefront!

    Thank you for another update.

I would like to inform you, what OpenGL 1.2.1 for MacOS is already in public access, so everyone could download it from Apple Website.

    http://asu.info.apple.com/swupdates.nsf/artnum/n11545

I think what now it is time to stop including OpenGL 1.2.1 in Combat Mission patches, I think what it would be enough to provide link to it. This would reduce patch size from 5.6 Mb to 1.5 Mb or so.

    Thank you.
