  1. CM2: Barbarossa & Beyond is an even better name, gj! I wonder if CM2 will include Finnish, Romanian, Slovakian, and Italian units that served on the East Front as well?

Another thing I've been wondering is will CM2 include ski troops? The Finnish army had a great many ski troops in the field throughout it's "three War's" + I understand that ski troops were used extensively by the Soviets in the defence of Moscow as well?

I think that Talonsoft's East Front 2 did a great job of incorporating ski troops, and the units of lesser known countries (those besides Germany and the USSR) -My guess is that CM2 will do an even better job!

  2. I love to use the German Flamethrower Half-Track (70 points for the regular version).

Here's a trick I use when defending a village: put your infantry in the second row of houses in the village and then right off the bat use the flamethrower to set the first row ablase via the area target option. Obviously the assaulting infantry can't enter the burning buildings and you can really give them a hardtime while they try to get to you without the aid of cover. This can work with woods too, but those squares are somewhat harder to set on fire than buildings.

  3. Don't just focus on the "no game is worth that much" part; I know the game is great I've got it, (though I think it was only $35US, or something when I ordered it)??

All's I'm saying is that we Canadian's could go into any EB in the trendiest mall we could find, and there wouldn't be a new release in the entire shoppe that cost more than $69.95 cdn. I just think $85 cdn is too much for a game that has been out this long + they should understand our position RE the exchange rate and try help Canucks out by setting up a distribution center in Canada.

  4. I just took a look at our exchange rate and it's 1.55US! That means anyone ordering CMBO from Canada is going to pay almost $85 for this game ($45 + $8 S&H x 1.55)!! That's just insane + no game is worth that (not even CMBO).

I agree with/support your online only policy, but isn't there some way you can distribute directly from Canada so as to give us poor canucks a break? The exchange rate is killing us, eh!

  5. I did a search and came up with the "detailed explaination" of why the developers won't be selling Combat Mission Beyond Overloard in stores. I really do support the developers stance, but this is a major hassel for me because I don't have a credit card, don't shop online. Hence, I am seemingly barred from getting a copy of this great game. frown.gif

I notice that Sid Meyers Antatum, (another online-purchace only game), has finally made it to stores + I hope that CMBO is released in kind. However, I want you to know that I definitely support the policy, and the move to protect Wargaming + my one and only qualm is that I can't get the game via the current system + I wish there was some other way...
