Not sure the plane model but the gun belts were 9 yrds. Emptying the belt , meant giving "them the whole 9 yrds". regards ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.

Hope you do get some $ in the end. It must take a tremendous amount of time on your part. Really appreciate it! Best ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.

Gun owners were required to take them to police stations. There would be a **** storm of gargutuan proportions if foreign troops were used in any way in oz for something like that.

Sounded like BS to me but I couldn't be sure at the time. BTW, love the eloquence of your post. ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.

 5.
quote:
Originally posted by Jadayne: I got the game 3 months ago. I have now been at the computer non-stop since that moment. I have an IV bag in my left arm feeding me a glucose paste for nutrition and have had my entire lower digestive system removed so i don't ever need to leave for the bathroom (all done under local anesthetic so I could continue playing) My roommate comes in and flips me over twice a day, so I don't get bedsores on my butt, and sponges me down. The carpal tunnel syndrome at this point is so bad that I've resorted to banging on the keyboard with my forehead and using my toes to manipulate the mouse. I've gone clinically blind, but have become so assimilated with the game, that I can maneuver my way around the map by sense of smell. I have no friends left except a bunch of people on the forum that i've never even met. God, I can't wait for CM2

Get's my vote for post of the day! too funny ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.

As well as a BA in History with 20 years of teaching while trying very hard to stay current in world politics.] that has brought me to the conclusion that the USA doesn't do anything that it doesn't at least believe is in it's own best interest. When it comes to geopolitical manipulation of one nationstate by another, or a group of others.......both or all factions could be manipulating eachother. And sometimes everyone gets what they are after. My own opinion is that we manipulate the UN and other nations far more than they us. Sure... there are exceptions to this... However, we are the toughest dog in the pack because we pay the lion's share of the bills (even when we don't stay current with the payments.) Oh. By the way. Be careful young man. If your going into the military looking for the same kinds of fulfillment or rewards you get from studying about military history or from playing war games you may be a bit disappointed. While serving your country and living the soldiers life does have it's share of rewards.....it's not at all as romantic as it's made to seem by some.

sage 'nuff said ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.

Have to disagree with the last part (only country worth dying for) but none the less good advice for MJ. Regards ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.
 9.
quote:
Originally posted by sneaky: Yes, 82nd I'd give you a full member. But I can't control that...you certainly deserve it today! Yeah I know you're chuckling. But the take from rich give to poor thing from Sherwood is not a good analogy to the guy on the tree. JMO. Sneaky

Hey thanks for the support Sneaky. I've reconsidered. The man on the tree for Prez, with Robin Hood as his running mate. Sorry Tarzan , your out. Of course Mr Hood will have to get a spin doctor for past indiscretions. Let's see the Democrats or Republicans top them! ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.
 10.
quote:
Originally posted by ironcross: Id hate to think of some poor guy dying while you wrestle with your conscience over the validity of your orders.

Good point! Just saw a episode of Tour of Duty on that very issue. ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.
 11.
quote:
Originally posted by sneaky: PeterNzer, 82nd, Contrary to popular opinion, the man nailed to the tree did not espouse TAKING from anyone. He did however espouse GIVING to the poor. Sneaky

Didn't mean to imply that TAKING, meant stealing. Just agree that He would be considered a bleeding heart liberal. And that is funny. Sort of. Come on , full member or what?? ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.
 12.
quote:
Originally posted by PeterNZer: I seem to remember there was was this guy who was nailed to a tree for expousing this 'bleeding heart politics'. I think quite a few people thought he was pretty neat guy. Never knew he was a bleeding heart liberal, guess he must of been wrong then! 13.
quote:
Originally posted by CavScout: That's why we are a Republic!

I like Bens quote too. Maybe I should have refered to the Constitution then, regarding free expression of ideas and such. Oh, BTW, define Republic. I am not clear on its meaning. ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.
 14.
quote:
Originally posted by kunzler: [b Hmmm, you may want to rethink that. Take from the rich and give to the poor is classic bleeding heart politics.

Worked for Robin Hood, so I am for it. The perfect ballot would be R.Hood for Prez with Tarzan has his running mate. (bet he's an environmentalist though) All in fun lads. Still trying to make member status. ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.
 15.
quote:
Originally posted by pzvg: Ok, some of y'all are seriously overmedicated. As for those who hate America, fine why you on this American forum, supporting an American game company? jeez, gidouddaheah!

Can't count myself in one of the above but I must point out the ole right to free speech thingy to ya. You might have heard about it in the papers. Price of democracy I'm afraid. Boy I hope I've posted enough to make member status now. Cheers ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.
 16.
quote:
Originally posted by CavScout: Agian, this is simply wealth redistribution. "Damm you have money... let's give to this guy who doesn't." Call it what it is, don't claim it is "polution control" when those poluting won't be effected by it. Cav

Cav, all well and good but Jeff does make some valid points. Try not to look at it as a snapshot in time but an evolving thing. The first step is to get an economy running, then lean on them for the polution controls. It will be in their best interests to conform as it was ours. Simply making the requirements for them the same as ours will effectively halt the process before it begins. Certainly there are some "mid range" targets for even the thirld world in polution control so as not to resort to the times of the industrial revolution. Anyway I still think we should have tougher polution control laws anyway...just because it's the right thing to do. Pie in the sky? Maybe. But you have to start somewhere. 17.
quote:
Originally posted by sneaky: [bMJ should remember that he may serve under the authority of another nation's commanders. Sneaky

Sneaky, I see this line of thinking quite a bit. Really, who cares what country as long as he/she is the right one for the job. Competency or lack of it is not exclusive to certain countries. I could think of a few Axis commanders I would rather have leading my unit than some of the Allied ones in WW2. I'd prefer Patton but you get the drift. Regards ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.
 18.
quote:
Originally posted by Jeff Heidman: LOL. Hey, any organaization that can take over the entire world without any military of its own, essentailly by tricking the people they are about to take over into using their very own military to do it, all the while keeping the entire thing a secret from everyone, (well except from your odd milita man living in Idaho) deserves to rule the world! Jeff Heidman

damn that is funny! ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.
 19.
quote:
Originally posted by sneaky: 82nd, It depends on why they are deployed. Remember, US Marines took part in the legal confiscation of firearms in Australia. I think it would be slightly disconcerting to see a German Soldier approaching my house for that kind of reason. Please notice I did not say it was good or bad. Just that is is happening and those who think "globalization" is a figment of the JBS imagination have missed it. The world is changing and it is important for MJ to realize what kind of army and operations he may be involved with. Sneaky.

Fair enough Sneaky. But really, if the Germans were coming to get your gun, it would be at the behest of the US government. The fact that they are Germans is irrelevant and slightly paranoid IMHO. Your advice to MJ is correct in that one needs to be aware of what he signs on for but the real jist of his post was that the UN somehow controlled the US military and he was uncomfortable with that. I think the evidence shows this to be false and therefore makes the JBS a dubious source of ANY information, globalization or otherwise. Just MHO. Oh, I will add a great quote I read too- "If we believe absurdities , we will commit atrocities"- Unknown I think it applies to JBS and their ilk. Happy wargaming. ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.
 20.
quote:
Originally posted by Chupacabra: Um, sure. I think it's a little bit ironic that you condemn the John Birch Society for being conspiracy theorists in the same paragraph as this nugget of wisdom.

Good one . LOL!! ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.
 21.
quote:
Originally posted by sneaky: However, remember there are German troops on US soil. Those who see "nothing wrong" or anything happening in this area of world affairs are just as blind and deluded as the members of JBS. Sneaky

You have a problem with German troops on US soil? They are Allies, and might I suggest there is probably alot more US troops on German soil. ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.
 22.
quote:
Originally posted by dumbo: "I may be mistaken but I believe Russia, China, and the US hold the only veto power in the UN " I think you are mistaken here at least in the security council. I beleive the UK and France have Vetos as well. Strong arguments have been put forward that India should have the same veto and probably will within 5 years. cheers _dumbo

Thanks dumbo, further in post I do note that however. Good point about India, 1 billion of them and all. Cheers to you, its Friday ! ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.
 23.
quote:
Originally posted by Minnesota Joe: I will resent taking orders from any non-american to fight in a conflict that the U.S. has no bussiness in.

MJ- firstly don't rule out that there are Generals etc from other countries more than able to lead men in battle, as for conflicts that the US has no business in, that is certainly open to LOTS of debate I am sure. Just my $.02 ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.
 24.
quote:
Originally posted by barrold713: The voting record within the United Nations is clearly stained with much anti-American sentiment including many nations that we send big checks that they don't mind cashing. BDH

Are you suggesting that they must conform to the US's wishes because they cashed the cheques? Doesn't sound like freedom or democracy to me. I may be mistaken but I believe Russia, China, and the US hold the only veto power in the UN and as such I fail to see how the UN controls the US but more like it , the other way around. Here is a quote from the UN website (might I suggest a better source than the JBS ) "UN Members are sovereign countries. The United Nations is not a world government, and it does not make laws. It does, however, provide the means to help resolve international conflict and formulate policies on matters affecting all of us. At the UN, all the Member States - large and small, rich and poor, with differing political views and social systems - have a voice and vote in this process" The Security Council is what concerns Minn. Joe as it is them that determine where troops go. This quote from their site might re assure you a bit. "The Security Council The UN Charter gives the Security Council primary responsibility for maintaining international peace and security. The Council may convene at any time, day or night, whenever peace is threatened. Under the Charter, all Member States are obligated to carry out the Council's decisions. There are 15 Council members. Five of these - China, France, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom and the United States - are permanent members. The other 10 are elected by the General Assembly for two-year terms. Member States have discussed making changes in Council membership to reflect today's political and economic realities. Decisions of the Council require nine yes votes. Except in votes on procedural questions, a decision cannot be taken if there is a no vote, or veto, by a permanent member." I was wrong, France and Britain can veto too. Interesting topic though Joe, et al. Good luck in the military. Regards ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.
 25. As the "gun hit" doesn't always mean gun damaged. (at least as far as I can tell) I don't really see it as an issue either way. In fact it makes it more nerve racking sometimes, not knowing whether you should chance the gun being damaged or not. Regards ------------------ What you see depends mainly upon what you look for.
