  1. I've heard that before, I believe it's a joke. No such interview actually occured to my knowledge. Do a search on General Reinwald and boy scout on the internet.
  2. Thanks, I guess I just never noticed (or possibly it's just never happened to me) I did notice that I seem to get "internal armor flaking" messages with churchills more often than other breeds, but that may be due not to the nature of the tank's armor as much as I'm more likey to leave a thick-skinned churchill out where it can be hit.
  3. I've seen penatrating hits on armored vehicles where a crew memeber was killed or incapacitated. The shell landed in the drivers lap or something. But I don't think I've ever seen a non-penatrative hit cause a casualty. Does CM not model chunks of armor flying loose and zinging around the crew compartment, or have I just missed it? I have seen "internal armor flaking," but it doesn't actually seem to mean anything (other than you're getting pounded by something). That brings up a second question. Is armor that begins flaking weaker versus any additional hits?
  4. Acey-Deucey? ah, so that's how it's going to be. Very well. I'll have you know that my men are not afraid of your conifer conflagrations or your detonating deciduous. Nay, it is your men who will be climbing the fragmenting ferns when they are set upon by Deuce’s Dogs of War. As a note: You have obviously displayed the limit of your WWII hardware knowledge today. Where you a bit more enlightened you would realize that the insta-castration warhead was only used by the Germans (in response to a British grenade that set fire to peoples underwear*) and was fitted on a 120 mortar, never a 155. It was banned by international agreement shortly after the war. The peculiar lack of squirrels in the Ardennes is largely attributed to treebursting of such munitions. *incidentally, this is why underwear was eventually phased out of the German uniform. Little known fact. [ 09-26-2001: Message edited by: Deuce ]
  5. Good observation Treeburst, I handn't even thought about that. Surely as soon as the servers recover from the shock of the initial ordering they will be once again burried in bug reports. I'll have to work that into my calculations. on a side note. no offense to Mr. Treeburst himself, but the term "tree burst" has always made me chuckle (you know, lightly, to myself) because it sounds like some sort of sexual dysfunction. You know, impotence, premature ejactulation, treeburst. I dunno. It makes me laught. [ 09-25-2001: Message edited by: Deuce ]

  8. I have formulated the following equation which describes the behavior of the CM community on the day of CMBB's release. A + B = C where: A is the seeming endless supply of die hard CM fan. B is lack of a pre-order option. C is the effect of 400,000 people logging onto BTS server in the space of 2 or 3 seconds. Perhaps we should take this thing in waves, don't want to clog the beachhead
  9. Whoa there, take it easy. I’m pretty sure that 80% figure was an exaggeration. I mean what’s 80% of a cagillion? A whole darn lot at least
  10. ahem... AAR info. I'm not sure what AFR info is must be getting late
  11. I would love to see much more detailed info available at the end of a battle. I know this sort of things has been suggested before, but I have a few specific ideas I don't think I've seen yet. For example: Graphs showing casualties over time, morale over time, I’m sure there are other possibilities. Detailed info for each AFV, perhaps results of shots taken (i.e. AP vs. Tiger I – 500m – side turret hit ricochet – 5min 34sec). Also if the vehicle has been KO’d, what hit it, where it got hit and when. Perhaps it could also keep track of how many ricochets, shell breakups, and penetrations to no effect were received by the vehicle, what caused them and when. For infantry there could be a record of statuses during the game (broken, pinned, ect.) times engaged in close combat, things like that. These things would obviously only be available after the end of the game. Combine those sorts of things with whole battle playback ability. (I never heard the final word on that, is it just not possible with the current engine?) and you’d have a great way for people to analyze their battles. Obviously it doesn’t directly add to gameplay, so it might not be a priority, but I don’t think anyone would complain about its presence and for me at least it would add to the enjoyment of the game. 12. Last week I clicked on a thread titled "Nice link for Grogs" or something like that and ended up in a entirely different thread, forget the title at the moment. I think the board's getting a little confused.
  13. When I clicked on the "Nice Link for Grogs" thread earlier, I ended up at the "TC .50 cal" thread. Trying it just now though it seems to be pointing to the correct thread. Seems like UBB blew a gasket.
