  1. Yep...i agree Mark, but i sincerely think that in the long run...releasing such games is indeed BAD for the stockholders etc. The claim that these guys are droppin like flies outta business because of poor sales is a reflection of the quality of the games issued....its really gotta hurt if even 20% of folks return a game because it isn't running right, isn't supported, and just plain blows...even if the game idea in of itself is genius.

  2. I for one really appreciate the well built, supported game the BTS guys/gals have made in this day of "send the game out early" type attitudes. It gives me hope that there is indeed hope for the software industry when someone can:

    1) Release a game that works VERY well right outta the box

    2) Is supported by staff on their BB

    etc..etc

I, for one, am very impressed with BTS and won't hesitate to buy another from this company. I don't quite understand why other games come out of the gate so poorly sometimes and i think this games helps support my point...a relatively low overhead team making a game that works splendidly, and has sold out 5+ times already even without instore advertising!...to me, that's pretty remarkable and i hope other bigger companies start to get the point i have known for years (gee...u don't have to be a rocket scientist) Release a bad, unsupported game, and word travels fast...despite the millions spent on hype hehe...release a great game and show a genuine love for it like these folks do, then the word spreads likewise. Hail to the smarter gamer and "good on ya" to the folks at BTS.......thanks

  3. My tanks still like to spend precious ammo on buildings that i have blown up but there's no survivors left in the building.anyone else see this?...the last update, i had to uninstall the whole game and then reinstall and add the 1.04 update for the game to work correctly..my tanks were ignoring other tanks 100% of the time in favor of regular infantry over 500m away (even if a Sherm was 50 feet away dead ahead.

  4. DOn't ever open any programs sent by unknown people.then u will never have a problem.....Just this week, i got 2 mails from idiots saying there was some unclaimed securities worth millions of dollars that i could claim...providing i provide my Bank name and the account number...what kind of an idiot do they think i am lol...sadly tho...hundreds probably go for it. I always use my pseudo email to reply with an attached bulls^&T file stating that if the openned the letter, a new email tracker system is currently gathering data on the source of the email....hopefully its some uneducated idiot on the other end of this fraud that has to pick up his junk and leave town... redface.gif

  5. I likewise disagree as this being "gamey". Refering to it as such by references to the lack of a similar scenario in real life is beyond the point. I think we should look at it as a "what if" situation where some new plan is in the works for instance and executing this plan requires the control of a key town...and the enemie sees this too...so there's a race to control the area. If u wish to use ur argument regarding a lack of ww2 tru-life situations in this scenario, well, there's other game types to play too...a set up of attacker vs. defender would be similar to the situation u describe. I still think the meeting engagement is a valuable and fun game type and is just as likely to become repetitive as any other type because with the exact same componants in the game, the situation may result entirely different depending on troop types, skill, HQ skill lvl..there's a near infinate number of variables that would determine the outcome...if 2 sides both rush the flags...how many do u allocate for each flag?...and will my veteren troops in smaller number (cuz they cost more, i couldn't buy as many) do well against lesser troops in greater number....and if i know he's gonna rush those three flags in a group in town....perhaps i'll sit back, let him occupy....send in 1 squad to see if its occupied 30 sec before i send in a ton of 300mm rockets and 105 artillery onto the flags....if the squad doesn't meet anyone...well..call off the bombardment...if there are enemies there..retreat and watch the fireworks...its alot easier to kill troops after they've been broken once..lots of options that i see...

  6. please check on the first page of this post, second from the bottom..where i addressed twiggage...i wish we could but its not possible frown.gif.....bout the ins and outs of mods...just open a .bmp in the bmp folder and take a look at some items (especially the ones with 4 digits in the 3000's...u can use any good paint program (i use photoshop LE) and start drawing stuff on it..save it (don't "save as..)..just save it so it keeps the same format and see how ur changes look and how they effect the vehicle. make sure u copy the original to ur desktop or something so u can replace it back after ur done. large generic sections of color can be filled in quicker by "cut and pasting" ur choice of color...just open up the file the swatch of whatever camo u want or create a "new" file in ur paint program with ur colors or camo and "copy" that to "paste into" the area u want to fill in on ur experiment. Diff. programs have different ways of doin things so i can't help much there. frown.gif

Actually, it would be nice if the faust icon on the forward screen included a number showing its type, maybe a superscript showing a 3/6/10 or something

    *******************************************

If u click on ur troops then click enter...u can see the type of faust they carry...it'll say "2 Panzerfaust30" or whatever in read......hope that helps.

Fionn is not actually a member of this forum or any fora related to combat mission (thank you, Fionn for being one of the only humans I have ever seen use the plural, 'fora' instead of the horrid americanized 'forums' so often seen.) he is instead a small smoothly furred rodent-like creature with a fantasmagorical win/loss ratio not to be confused with gerbiltoy who is not at all a rodent and is also a big fat liar esp about his win loss ratio

  9. Not historical that i know of.....tho those Germans were a little more apt to vary their camo more than the US it seems so who knows..ideas anyone? Was there any special tank that had a purpose oriented camo arrangement?..I think the only steady mod actually employed was to attach actual twiggage and leafness to the tanks but can't remodel the 3d for the tanks for this game...too bad...i'dda like to make a commander's antenna with a little flag on it for the radio

  10. my general 2 cents worth...never charge with tanks hehe...they are hugely more effective when kept at a distance as supression till u know where enemies are smile.gif I win 99% of my quickbattles cuzza this...i'll be in a town and get a few armours with artty...then save some for the inevitible onrush of 3 billion infantry units the puter likes to pick. By the end, ALL their armour is gone for just that reason...AI likes to get too close to the action and hide behind buildings where i have a haust hiding. If they kept all their tanks afar on ridges..they'd do alot better smile.gif

  11. Nope...its not Mossy oak lol....hey...bout tribes...they said they were gonna make it so u didn't need the other server to have the skins for them to be seen...this may have been implimented....when's the last time u played? Some games i join actually asks me if i wanna use my custom skins...never did that b4......hopefully they figured a way to economically/efficiantly do it as this would be awesome in other games/flight sims etc too
