Silly junior member me. I did a reinstall and it's all working absolutely wonderfully.

When I try to run the game from my desktop icon it demands the CD-Rom. Which is in the drive. I then learned I can run the game directly from the CD. However, I now can't save games. What's wrong with my installed version? Help!!
