  1. Ya, I am a fan of the Enfield. What else have you heard from veterens about it? I only have quates from certain books about the Lee Enfield. I am trying to build a case in its defense, as ALOT of my American buddies (really good guys) seem to believe that the Canadians and British were wrong to not use the M-1 and the soldiers didnt like the Enfield!

    Thanks Micheal

  2. Funny, I heard many veterens quoted in Canadian made books saying that, in world war 2, the only weapon American infantry weapon the Canadians thought was worth buying was the Thompson. They always said "Our Lee Enfields were reliable, accurate and fast firing, it was better than the mouser, and thats all that mattered."

Lee Enfields were popular with the Troops, as wiht the Bren, but not the Sten :(

  3. Hello, I normally play as British, CW and German. I can't comprehend using the American forces, they seem almost weak in june '44. In Urban fighting, their Bazookas blow more of my men up then the enemies! Their infantry seems ok, but thier lack of support destroys that one small advantage. Bazookas kill their own men in houses, in June of 1944 their tanks are bad, no fireflies to play with smile.gif

81mm mortars aren't near as effective as 3 inch ones.

    HELP Me! I need it!

    Thanks!

  4. No, I have tons of respect for the average American soldier. It just seemed to me that you should have included other nations who were doing the exact same thing. Brits/Commonwealth and other countries didn't want to be there, but got the job done. I think WE ALL have something to be proud of . . . Therefore include everyone.

As for me being Canadian, That makes no difference. I don't Envy, nor do I condemn America. America is our ally, and I enjoy the their weather! smile.gif . . Stupid Canadian winters . ..

  5. Has anyone even considered the basic American GI fighting across Europe? These guys were conscripted from all walks of life, who didnt want to be there, and just wanted to get the job done and go home. And they did it!"

I think you should say the basic allied soldier, rather than just American. The British/commonwealth were fighting and got the job done too. The Americans weren't the only citizen soldiers fighting in Europe . . .

  6. Canadians (I am one) were an all volunteer army. They went because they wanted too. They also wanted to get the job done...

KRS321 how about you look in some books and find out about world war 2, you'll find that alot of other countries fought too. So instead of saying the average GI, you should say the average soldier . . .

As for your comment about the Australians . . . They have all the right to be proud of their army. As you have the right to be proud of the American army . .

  7. I can only agree. . .In one scenario I had British vetern Paratroopers holding a bridge with a vickers machine gun. A bunch of German rifle sections begin to move across the small bridge. I ordered the Vickers to fire at the foremost section and it didnt even phase them. The machine gun was 150 metres away. The damage should have been catastrophic as the machine gun was above the bridge and the teams had no where to go. All the machine gun did for me was allow the Germans to take the bridge and bring up reinforcements and break into the city. They captured it after 12 turns. If only that machine gun could have even pinned the germans down for 2 turns reinforcements would have been there. . . The germans were of regular quality, and were whermacht troops.

You would think that a machine gun could pin down 18 men on a bridge for 2 minutes . . .

  8. Just saw the movie, thought it was well done. I think I liked it because I thought that it was a story that was believable. Unlike the west, Russians had women in thier front line as combat soldiers. It is possible that a love story could have happened. Have an imagination. I personally thought that SPR was a joke, it had, other than the first half hour NO STORY at all. This movie was a drama set in a war.

The sniper duel was beetwen two men, but it was symbolic. The primitve Russian man, born and raised in the rural areas. Against a man with honer and with high social status...

It was a good drama. You were supposed to interpret cetain things, the charachters for one thing. I think that some of you guys are to busy looking at the weapons and the action instead of the meaning...what some of you want is a documentary, not a movie with a story...

  9. Hello, I am not really great with computers and I wish to know how I can upgrade my drivers. I have a TNT-2 and Am updating them to 6.49 Detonator drivers.

I unzipped them to a folder that I made called "drivers" and when I go to press "change" on the adapter info on my card I don't know weather to let Windows find the drivers or me to tell it where they are. The instructions don't even mention Windows Update Device Driver Wizard...

    Thanks for anyhelp.
