only another 6 hours to d/l

  2. Guys, i probably have the dubious honor of having actually been in real combat, at the tender age of 43 and 15 years in the British Army, one usually will have the chance of a real war. You have to remember that lots of things are taking peoples attention, i/e trying not to get shot.

If your crew fail to see a bazooka crew or a large pink bunny, its because

A.. their faces are pressed into the dirt

B.. they have seen something that they are not sure about(was it the wind blowing the bushes/curtains etc)

C..They were to busy reloading, lighting a cigarette, listening to what their leader was saying.

d..Their stuck in a tin can with a little vision block

A Tank that loses its commander, well in the time scale of Combat Mission, will be very lucky to get back into action (to be truthful,in real life most Tanks would high tail it rearward)

A buttoned up tank in the middle of a battle,is a very frightened beast, try looking out of a 4 by 6inch vision block, under fire, dust, bouncing up n down and see if you can spot a House let alone a 2 man a/t team!

Combat Mission is a beautiful game, superbly supported, however it is a GAME, its A1 cannot

replace real people and that is why somethings appear strange, do not blame Battlefront, accept it that things do go wrong in war.Trust me,I know, i have been in one.

  4. This Sucks i leave the board for a few months and Peng has spread, is their no end to this pollution.Whatever ever happened to the pre-demo joys of 88mm velocity in mist, or will we be allowed to make our own gun noises.oh and 42 is a a brain cell count of someone whose name will not be said, benny.

Hamsters don,t ya just luv em

  5. i thought the original question was you wanted to join the army. Now i could be wrong but if youve got to have some sort of debate over if you think you should join because of un or us involvment in various conflicts, youve answered your own question i/e no.

The army isnt a debating or sewing circle you go where your told end of story.

If you dont like where your going to be sent fine go awol, however if you think you might not like fighting in certain countrys that your goverment or yes the united nations send you then stay at home

Id hate to think of some poor guy dying while you wrestle with your conscience over the validity of your orders.

If you join the army then you better get used to going to places you dont want to and putting up with it

  6. sven, your correct about the vision for the commander and gunner, thats why mg fire is more to be classed in real life as suppression rather than killing (unless the target is perfectly targetted)mg fire especally after a long engagment due to fouling of the barrel and a tendency to burn out can really be classed a akeeping ones heads down.

mg fire is perfect when a target is obvious

such as the beaches of omaha, but when in a close built up area more for suppression

  7. i think this point was discussed as well about sighting from a tank, have you tried to look out of a tanks vision slit when closed down and moving? with smoke in the air even wind rustling bushes, you would be hard pressed to see anything thats why m.g fire is used ,firstly as a means of suppression secondly.main gun ammo may be more important to use when a hard target is seen.

In a lot of cases i think that this is what the a1 is trying to simulate rather than having it fire and knockout everything like something out of a movie
