If none of the above suggestions have helped, then I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling CMBN. This is fairly easy if you have the 'all-in-one' CMBN 4.0 Upgrade installer which installs everything. All modules and upgrades should remain activated too with an uninstall as long as you're installing to the same Windows installation that the game/modules were activated on previously (you should see the icons for everything load up in the lower left of the initial CMBN main menu).

If you're installing to a non-standard location and/or your user folder has been modified to redirect elsewhere, then you may want to mention that in your Helpdesk ticket.

Already did that a couple of times and I always use the default location.  I have a ticket open and I'll see what the HELPDESK comes back with.  In the meantime, please keep offering suggestions.

Oh good one. While I have some how managed to <alt>S the sound off I have not managed to selectively mute the game. I do use that volume mixer to cut the volume of the games to 50% so I don't hit the ceiling after watching some quite YouTube video and then go back to the game.

Also the possibility the keyboard is the culprit, if by chance you haven't checked that out already.  Mine has a mute key that I occasionally engage by mistake.  And sometimes (don't know why) I have to unplug/plug it in order to have it reset to get the sound back.

Nope, not either of those.  Thank you for continuing to think of solutions.  I did open a ticket so hopefully BF can help me fix the issue.

Dang, I was hoping for the easy fix. I certainly have done that before. Have you opened a support ticket?

Not yet, was waiting to see if anyone here had an easy fix.  Also tried deleting preferences file and that didn't work either.

  4. I was also having graphics issues. My PC was defaulting to the intergrated graphics versus using my graphics card, NVDIA GT 745.

Once I ,configured the PC to use the NVDIA vs the intergrated graphics, quality and performance improved.

Not saying this is your issue, but check to ensure your graphics card is being utilized.

  5. If there are trains, then there would need to be horses so the riders could leap aboard and stop the train, otherwise the train would be to powerful.

Then to counter-act the horses, motorcycles would be needed to counter-act the superior mobility of the horses, but then what stops the motorcycles?

  6. Brew Command

The reactions will obviously depend on the calibre of the troops.

Green - poor admin, can't find their backside with both hands - long time to produce Brew - lower moral as NCO's chase them back to battle without finishing their char

Veteran troops - quick off the mark (esp Desert vets) tea produced quickly - but then the 'lingering over nearly empty cup' effect (that's these vets are still alive). However when chased by NCO's accept 'beasting' with more aplomb. Better moral and more rested.

Elite troops - superb brewing skills, quick to slurp tea down, slight delay for chomping a few biscuits - Better Moral, more rested and more energy.

Seriously though, the Battle for Normandy went on for quite a while, it was vicious fighting, and people being people, I wouldn't be suprised if there was some abuse of various substances, booze almost definately and as mentioned previously, stimulants were handed out.

In order for these commands to not be abused, you would also need a "GO TO THE LOO" command, which would be mandatory after using the "BREW" command 3 times. The "GO TO THE LOO" command would have the same effect as 3 consecutive "PAUSE" commands, but the "GO TO THE LOO" command can only be issued once a unit is in cover.

  7. Im taking the lack of BF saying anything today leave the door open that they might release today.......

If today was a definate NO, then I would have expected them to say, "after reviewing feedback from the demo..............there are a few things to fix................so we will be releasing in a few days"

Since they have said nothing, that leaves them the option of today or not today (that is the question)

    Im an optimist

  8. Bit of a long shot - You a Santa Cruz mountain bike rider then? I've got me a Santa Cruz Heckler hence the query. Bit of topic...

Not a long shot at all.....I have a anodized black heckler (Marzochhi 666 and Fox DH). It's 7 years old and seen its share of wear and tear!

Ill bring it back to the topic.....if the Germas had real bikes for their bycicle troops then they could have launched over the hedgerows'

    :)

  9. "To foreigners, a Yankee is an American.

To Americans, a Yankee is a Northerner.

To Northerners, a Yankee is an Easterner.

To Easterners, a Yankee is a New Englander.

To New Englanders, a Yankee is a Vermonter.

And in Vermont, a Yankee is somebody who eats pie for breakfast. "

You forgot the most important definition of Yankee

To Red Sox fans its a player from that evil empire in the Bronx
