Nope, the winter set an extra set that kicks in on snowy scenarios.

Well nothing like everyone talking at once

  2. I have reported earlier that I have an expanding white square with explosions on high graphics, unable to screen capture and unable to get 1078 x768 res with my Voodoo 2 card. Just installed tnt2 card got rid of Matrox and Voodoo2 cards, I can screen capture, now get transparent houses fog looks better, now play in 1078 res, but still have white expanding squares on high quality explosions. The TNT driver is V 4.12.01.0377 and I am using DX7 any ideas folks starting to piss me off, do need to use DX7.0a?

    a) needs a river to hide behind

    B) needs the indirect fire capability to inflict some damage on Fionn while hiding...

Please note that all smilies on this iBook got slaughtered at a road-block.

No I just think it would add another dimension to a player's attack just an added consideration. just love defending bridges.

Well, I am running CM on pentium 233(mmx) with TNT2 M64 (PCI) display card and vortex2-based sounds,win95SR2, 64Mb memory, full install. The new explosion etc are fine, so I suppose that problem lies with voodoo2. (Tho, I earlier used voodoo2+4Mb primary card and it worked fine if slow, too, apart from those explosions. Mine showed the correct graphics, but they were almost totally transparent and thus quite invisible..)

On my system small/medium scenarios are quite playable in 1024x768, when ambient sound is turned off. (horizon 2,5 km, sparse/medium trees, full weather*, full smoke, 2 men per squad). Usually the first 30 secs of replay are problematic with frames every 2 seconds or so, but after pausing and playing again it works fine for the rest of the scenario(* although the fog tends to cause slowdowns occasionally). Almost like the system used some sort of "lazy-load" scheme which then hogs the processing power in start of first replay.

BTW, how much memory do you have in your primary display adapter? At least some newer games have problems with older 2Mb cards even when 2Mb should be enough...

    Topi,

can you run on 1024 x 768 res? I run my desktop a this res but I can only get 800 x whatever witn CM. I have a 4meg Matrox Mystique video card. Apart from the expanding white square I don't any probs with the game. Medium size games run well with all options on, and the large scenarios such as SS vs Nova Scotia are slow but playable. thanks for feedback, and can you still buy pci tnt2 cards, a retailer here in Melbourne Oz said they wouldn't run on a lowend sys and were no longer available, Maybe he was talking thru his bum.

  5. Yep, Schrullenhaft I followed all the above steps, V1.01 shows on the title page, didn't have problems prior to the patch, and have tried it on two separate systems with different 3 cards, yes it could be me but I dont know what, only other explanation is the 2 computers are low end

  6. This problem was mentioned on an earlier thread but no reply.

After installing Patch 1.01 arty explosions turn into slow expanding white squares, when smoke is set at high quality graphics.

PS I have a voodoo2 card, but have also experienced the problems on another system, with a tnt2 card and matrox 12 meg 3d card not sure of type. I have low end system (pent233). is this a graphic card problem or a CPU problem?

  7. Guys, your games are only a day or so away my package date is similar to Kwazydog"s Shipped 21/6 received 5/7 according to the person I spoke to Oz Post a week or so ago, 14 days is about average. There shouldn't be any Custom concerns as the package is marked software value $5' it comes via normal means, local postie not AP parcel truck. Anyhow look on the brighter side, if the parcel comes Friday, it won't damage the Oz economy. I took a sickie today, and my wife is sending food parcels out to my computer shack. Hopefully I'll have the strength to go to work tomorrow.

  8. Just finished playing a scenario where a Bazooka sqd ambushed a tiger, the shot hit a track, a real cool sight was watching the tiger spinning around on one track and crashing into a building. Got the Zook team to run around to the other side of the building and finish him off it took another 3 shots. Wow fun stuff.

PS I think my second childhood has resurfaced.

I'm just posting here cause I don't want everyone jumping on Marcus.

    1. Colin did NOT get a beta.

    2. The ONLY way he has CM is if he got it via downloading from a warez site since CM hasn't arrived in Australia yet.

    3. He HAS publicly shown and stated that he has CM and is in Australia. Therefore he d/led it from a warez site.

He also reported the site to Charles ( which is good) BUT he dl/ed a warez version ( which is VERY, VERY, VERY bad) and I know a lot of other testers feel as angry as him as I do.

We feel very let down by his behaviour.

To those who want to give the benefit of the doubt etc.. That's very nice of you BUT (and I want to underline this) there is no doubt about what happened. It is known to testers and those whom I've talked with about this feel as angry as I do at what has happened.

Constable Fion, you appear to be well versed in rights and wrongs of life so please explain the difference between jumping on Marcus to jumping Colin.
