Think that not a general in those time had the luxury to fly a planes to see it top down view. To move around is like seeing what your troops can see, nothing more. So i think its more realistic to have limited views. I played Fighting Steel recently and i was completly repulsed by all the views you can have. You can almost see what the ennemy cooks are making in the galleys. I remember the game Pacific 1942. We had only views from the boats. No fency 3D unrealistics views on the ennemies. In that game the real fog of war was on. You could fire at your onw boats. That realistic. And you had to know the profile of the ships to identify them. I guess those feature were made for the newbies or very Age Of empires kind of players. It sure looks good to have 3D views everywhere, but not a commanding officers had that lucky chance in battle. Even today!!!!

My post was not pointed at you Fionn. I hope BTS read all the topics. I just trying to help them. For me even if the game is in Russian i will buy it and get a French-Russian dictionnary. But i know a lot of people who wont. Maybe i just want to act like mother Theresa by helping them makes more money... Or simply have more people to play with and curses them in french....

The Fallshirmjagger units who manned the StuhIII and Stuh42 were actually artilliery troops. They were not from tank trainning cause the idea was to have direct control over them by infantry HQ. They also perfored as the support roles and indirect fires. Low muzzles guns are very good at that. Or you can even name the AVRE mortar gun has the ideal indirect fire.

So 1 month for the replication, 1 month for the TC/IP, and uncertain time for the waxing. So summer could be the most close scenario ATA. That`s giving me a time table. So now i can figure out mu budget for this summer sotware buying....

Your call. If you want to pass beside some buyers. It's a business choice. But it could meen more sell to have a french version and a spanish one. Of course it takes time to make, but its not like reshaping the english manual. The game wont change. How many time it took for the english one? Count half the time for each translations. IF CM sells good you can have a lot more revenues from that translation. And you have to do it once. I am french and i could tell you that a lot of my friends and familly dont buys english software. So if you are sure to sell good with CM you better make translations. Even if you have to pay for it. We are not talking about a poetic book, but a technical one. It just take a ww2 french speaking one to make a good translation. No need to turn into a Beaudelair proses. If you dont care. Other will also dont care about buying it. Thats pretty simple. They wont follow course to learn english. If you dont beleive that you will sell many games, why bother making it. I can say thats a good game and i know for one that my brother and a freind at work will buy it if they can understant it. So count already 2 sells.

Can Tanks can fire indiect fire? The big Tanks were often used as artillery, do CM model that?

The min range of that weapon is the range you want to be as far you ca be for yjr explosion. The range was control by the ammount of propellant put into it. So the range can be 100m if you want to be that close.

I want to know if smoke screens will be included in the game. Lots ov smokes coverage were used in ww2. How can you oder a team to fire smoke shell ammo?

If we are not talking about capitalism. I can sure spare some money if the designers will get socialists ideas.... The game given to all to the pure enjoyement of making it so. Yes we can dream. But Capitalism is just a word to generalise the whole comcept of earning money by working. distrubuters work is to distrubute and making the game to be available to more people. If no distributors, then no big sells. Without distributors the profit margin is higher, but less sells. If the game is going as good as everyone thinks, any publisher will put money in it, and use his ditributions gates to make the game a success. And by haing a publisher they could give a hand on the money side so the game will be available for the good sell season. So i guess with no real publisher we will have to wait to see the game get out of the basement of steve house... No dates, no annoucement, no time table. For me i will buy another game if CM is not out in one month. Maybe in fall ill spend other money of CM if its released then.....

but that's not really ranking but more a track of you record. you cam play many battles with weal players and makes pts, you cant know if a players is really good, you just know that he have beaten others, that's a bit relative to who your playing. I guess for now that the only one available....

The problem to put a mortar in forest is the angle of the firing arc. you have to be away from trees as much as posible. And you can hit trees with your mortar projectiles. mortar crew must have a certain distances to all trees in the direction of the firing. the only good protection for a mortar is a hole in the ground with some sand bags around. Forget forest.

Why 16 % since in the 6 crew one is carrying the tube, another the base plate, that give ammo ratio on 4 crew members. that 25% for each. Also while firing you have a man amming and another directing the operations, it give the rest the task of feeding the the mortar, thats also 25% for each crew lost.

Does anybody will put a rankink system up, so we could find players in our level of play. ( so i could take a break between heavy bleeding). And will it be the BTS who will host it? It could be nice.

Wow. I guess the WW2 is almost on again. Gentlemen please choose the weapon of your choice, walk back 100 step away from each other. Turn and on my signal ..... run away. How come ideas come clashing like that on a nice forum like this one. Are we talking about politics other warm subjects? If soemone is tageted (SS_PL) they must have been ennemy of the state (forum). I hope one will be taken out of his misery. Lucky that CM have weapons in the game......
