  1. Attention Tread Heads What would be the typical breakdown of engineer support (CEV, MICLIC, AVLB, ACE, etc) to a balanced battalion task force in a mid-1990's NTC rotation? Would it differ if it was Armor-heavy or Mech-heavy? Thanks in advance,
  2. When an M1A1D with mine plow attatchment approaches a known, surface laid minefield why does it not attempt a breach but look for a bypass? I have approached the minefield to be in an adjacent position to it and when I click on the "Breach Obstacle" button and then click the cross hairs onto the minefield, I recieve the error sound. I am running TacOps v4.0.5AK Any help is appreciated, Pete
  3. Both the MEU and BLT will have both a Bn Chaplain and Bn Medical Officer repectively. I cannot speak authoritatively on the MSSG and Composite Squadron but I'd be will to wager they also bring along their own Chaplain and MO.
  4. Does anyone know a problem with the TacOps mailing list? There has been a obvious lack of activity. telelists@perilpoint.com says that I am still subscribed. An attempted message to the list was returned. I could have been caught up in current events (which is probably the culprit) and missed some important list info. Thanks for any help.
  5. Hey Major, Can you post the "standards" as far as coding maps, i.e. the effects of the various levels of "roughness" as well as water and water+woods. This will help reduce murphy's effects once we start rolling out maps and realize that we've created a 31km x 31km no-go areas. ------------------ Semper Fi, Pete mar03
  6. You can check out: http://call.army.mil/call/spc_sdy/hickey/hickey1.htm It is a comprehensive text on company/team offensive armored/mechanized tactics. It has been an interesting read. There is also Major Holdridge's Military Refrence Library compilation on US FM's and TM's (Hey Major, where are the FMFMs?) ------------------ Semper Fi, Pete mar03
  7. Yes night/limited visibility ops can be replicated. Reduce the "manual" visibility to whatever distance you feel is attainable for your mission, taking into account moonlight, cloud cover, and/or other ambient light sources. Leave your thermal sight capability on. btw, there is also a good cpx description of a limited visibility recon scenario. It is in the AAR section on the tacops page. Unfortunately, I do not recall the name of that specific report. Perhaps James Sterrett or one of the other participants could give you more info on that. ------------------ Semper Fi, Pete mar03

  9. Can anyone enlighten me on the procedure to utilize the map overlay function. (Preferably not the Major, I'm sure he's busy on the more pressing items). I understand why we would use them, just haven't found anything in the manual discussing it. Thanks ------------------ Semper Fi, Pete mar03

    TacOps music

I'm running v3.0 on a PC and I do not have any music, neither Fanfare A or B, at the beginning of the program (as was such with the demo) I thought it was odd but did not decide to speak up until I read the earlier posts on this thread. Any ideas? Semper Fi, Major! Major PF Maidhof USMC
  11. I know that a player can select numerous units by holding down LMB and dragging a loop around the units. Can the player then assign common waypoints? If not, what can be gained by doing this outside of using it in the cpx umpire mode?
