  1. Hi, I didn't expect such a quick reply. I certainly didn't expect it from one of the section leaders of CMHQ. If everything I've read about CM is correct then this game sounds too good to be true. In fact, I've got to have it as soon as it comes out. BTW, I've never paid full price for a computer game in my life, which should tell you something about how highly I regard this game. Just don't tell my wife. Its for Father's Day. Yeah, that's the ticket, Father's Day. I caught the "wargame bug" back in the very early 70s with Avalon Hill's "Gettysburg." A friend of mine and I got ahold of a rules-set for micro-armor called "Tractics" in the late 70s. We modified those suckers so much they were virtually unrecognisable. We were trying to make every aspect of projectile, armor data as real as possible. We measured shell incidence angles with a protractor and used an old Ti-58 to calculate relative armor thicknesses. Of course we couldn't accurately portray or figure armor attitude in the 3rd dimension. What we wanted was to make the game as accurate as possible. My father even told us we had put so much work into it that we should try to publish our own rules. The only problem was that things were so complicated with calculations and dice throws that it took an entire weekend to play an engagement with only 3-4 tanks per side, not fun really. Thankfully, I lived long enough to see home computers with the ability to make what we were trying to achieve a reality beyond even our dreams. I have a small idea of what everyone involved with this project has gone through in order to try and provide a very small segment of the computer gaming community with the game we have so longed for. All I can say is THANK YOU. In an attempt to be prophetic I will say that, so far, I think this game will be the one that, in years to come, everyone refers to as "having started it all." Sorry for such a long post. Have fun gaming. Er, uh, battling. I guess that isn't PC (politically correct) anymore.
  2. Sorry if this topic has been broached before. Will/has the ability of large purely HE rounds (not shaped charges)impacting on armor and penetrating that armor, if thin enough, be modelled in CM?
