  1. I have done WWII reenactments now for about a year and it is really a great thing. It is the best way that I can show my respect and honor for the men who wore the uniform. My unit is out of Chicago and we reenact the U.S. 9th infantry division, 60th infantry regiment. Our website is http://members.tripod.com/ninthreenactors/ninth1.html So check it out!
  2. Why does no one make Vietnam games? Is it too unpopular still or is there just no interest in it? Would CM traslate well into the jungles of South Vietnam?
  3. My original intent was not to get started on all this talk about who killed more civilians or murdered more prisoners. I may be alone on this, but with all that I have read 99% of the people in the US army did not kill prisoners! Being a WWII reenactor I have spoken to many veterans and none have told me of any atrocities. I know they happen but I think the simple fact is that most men of the British, Canadian, and American forces were not as bad as their Russian or German counterparts. As historian Stephen Ambrose said, "When civilians saw the Russians or Germans coming they would hide because it meant murder, rape, and pillaging. When they saw the Americans coming they would all come out for it meant candy, gum, and cigarettes."
  4. The beginning of your web page says that you will change the face of wargaming. Well I was just hoping you would start a new fad in World War II gaming. Remember those who gave their lives in the conflict. And remember those who are still here for all they gave and all they did. All these games are based on events that happened in the war, but there were real people fighting and dying because their respective countries told them they should. Hopefully you can mention something of this at the beginning of the game...... and mention all sides because for the most part, the German infantryman was the same as his American and British counterpart, a father, a son, a brother who was drafted into service. Be different and remember and respect the men who fought and died in the second world war.
  5. I just wanted to let you guys know the game looks great so far. I am a WWII re-enacter and I don't understand the big deal about charts and graphs and huge instructional booklets. Having read and studied a lot of World War II I think the biggest thing to have in the game is a feel or emotion. Like in Close Combat when you hear your men dying it takes you into the game and you are almost there! That is the best part. Of course gameplay is very important and without it you have nothing but from the way it looks if CM has feel and emotion it should kick ass in every way! By the way everyone should check out a WWII public display battle- They are usually excellent! One more thing there is no better feeling than riding into a battle on the back of a sherman!
