Yes. 900rpm for MG34 and approx. 1200rpm for the MG42. I used the MG34 for the CMG/BMG/AAMG sounds for tanks...

Sometime this week I should be finished with the weapon sound fx for my new sound mod. I need like 5 or 6 people that would be willing to test them for me and make suggestions for changes/improvements. If you would like to help, please send me an email to jjohnson@sherwoodpolice.org and I will send them to you when I finish. I will also be updating explosions, vehicles, etc. and will send them also when I finish them. Thanks...
-
Mine's even better...
-
Yes it does. Tonight I start on CMAK. After that I will probably update the CMBB sound map like I did for CMAK and then finish off the updated CMBB sounds...
-
Excellent! I use all of your vehicle mods. They are top notch! Thanks...
-
Finished the mortars and AA guns listings. Pretty well finished now, except for the two unidentified sounds...
-
Ah yes, so it does... I had forgotten all about the M3. Thanks a lot!Originally posted by Darkmath:00002080-00002082 corresponds to M3 "Grease Gun" SMG.
Hope it helps .
I don't found the 00001640 however.

Finished updating all of the larger gun mappings. Enjoy...
-
Just a small update. Still working on the tank main gun sounds, almost finished...
-
Updated the AA gun listings. Now to get a more accurate listing for the tank main guns, etc.
-
Another update. All of the small arms and AT Rifles are now mapped correctly...

Sounds like a job for someone other than me! That would be one very large (and long) undertaking...Originally posted by RockinHarry:Thank you very much! Now we only need to know when the various voice sound files are triggered! Some are obvious, but many are not, the more when Hollywood language is used.

Updated the list again today. Just some additional weapon mappings...

I don't know. I've never heard it play before. it may have something to do with pirating/copy protection...Originally posted by DerBlitzer:>> 00001640=Your papers, they are not in order!
Hahaha! When does this one get played? Or does it?

You could check www.abebooks.comOriginally posted by istari:Hi all,
Looking for some help. I recently picked up "German Automatic Weapons of World War 2" by Robert Bruce, and found it an excellent resource. He uses reenactors to walk through each of the major automatic weapons from the perspective of the individual soldier, adding a layer of detail I haven't found before in other books. Highly recommended.
Now I've heard that the author, Robert Bruce, also wrote a book called "US Automatic Weapons of World War 2", using a similar approach. Unfortunately, searches on-line keep drawing a blank - Amazon and other on-line booksellers don't have it.
Any ideas from the WWII grognards here on where I might search to find a copy?
Thanks much!

Once again, thank you. LOL, the only accent that I can hear with any degree of accuracy is Northern and Southern US accents. That ear-grating Yankee accent is hard to miss!Originally posted by Sequoia:From a post by Brizza
"After listening to the WAVs, I reckon:
70000+ = British
There are some thick British accents in there. That "Bloody British Weaponry" file, again has a British accent. These are unlikely to be from either South African, Australia or New Zealand
80000+ = Australian
Not a strong Australian accent, but most of them are suitably nasal enough to be Australian.
81800 has "strewth" in it = good Aussie slang
100000+ = New Zealand
Most of files here sound like the stuff I hear on local TV, a softer accent.
In all these groupings there are some that don't sound like they belong, but in general the files fit the groupings I've given
I couldn't find the South Africans or anything convincingly South African. The same with the Canadians.
Disclaimer: South African born, living in New Zealand. Not known for my musical ability (i.e. tone deaf) "

Thank you very much! It is appreciated...Originally posted by Sequoia:I suspect the voice wavs follow this pattern. I would be glad for any one to tell me I'm wrong.

Listed below is a comprehensive sound map for CMAK. There are a few that I have not determined yet. They are marked with <-- next to the description. If you know what the sound refers to, please let me know so that I can update the list. The easiest way to determine what a sound refers to is to make a backup copy of the .wav, and drop in a replacement. I use a DTMF signal .wav file and then listen in-game for the sound that I dropped in. If you want to try this method out but do not know how to create a DTMF wave file, send me an email and I will send you some test files that I use. Here's the list:

I never uploaded my CMBB sound mod to Cm Mod Database, but IIRC, it is there, uploaded by AstroCat...Originally posted by Lane:I just installed CW's CMBB Captain Wackey Mod.at www.cmmods.com. I like the echo effects
of the gun fire. Will look for Ncrawler's
new sound mod's
Have a good one

Glad you liked the old one. You should like the new one as well when I finish it... I never got around to doing a mod for CMAK, although I did buy it. It is ripe for a mod though as the default sound fx are way too muted IMHO. I found a partial CMAK sound map and am in the process of identifying some of the sounds which were not listed. I'll let everyone know when it is finished and available for download...Originally posted by zmoney:Awesome, I love your sound mod for cmbb. I was wondering if you did one for cmak. Good to see you back.
I think there is a sound map at cmmods. I can't remember what it's name is though.
Edit: Oh yeah, one thing that I am going to do is standardize the sounds between the games (as much as possible) so that an MG42 in CMBO will sound the same in CMAK, etc.

After a rather long absence from the Battlefront forums, I return to find that people, like myself, are still playing the Combat Mission series. I think that I am going to release a newer, updated version of my sound mod for CMBO and CMBB. I will probably also create a new one for CMAK, but I need the sound map for it. Does anyone have a good sound map for CMAK that they could send to me? Thanks...

What I'd like to see for CMx2:
Sound effects/music converted to OggVorbis format.
I really hate making a sound mod which is 45+ MB zipped...

"ripping" MG42 sound mod?

For those interested in the uncompleted CMAK sound mod. You can get it from here: http://rapidshare.com/files/65371050/CMAK_Sound_Mod.zip
This is stored on my premium rapidshare account so it should be there for a while. Just note that I never did finish this mod so some of the sound fx may not be the best quality. I can assure you however that there are no 'clicks' at the end of the sounds...
BTW, to the guy that was talking about the 'clicks' in the sounds: this was most likely caused by the conversion to/from .wav to .mp3. I tried to tell people years ago that converting your sounds to .mp3 to save space was a bad idea. I've always released my mods as uncompressed .wavs so if you find any of mine stored as .mp3s then someone else did that...
