Just tried a custom operation and one of the canned ones, same problem in both - no sharpshooter ammo. Not using TCP, BTW. Mac version 1.1b23

  2.
I'll bet a lot of us ordered the infantry to move straight ahead, inside the long rows of buildings, unaware that the connecting walls were impassable. So the AI figured it would help, and plotted 700 waypoints that moved each unit into and out of each successive building.

Thanks for pointing that out! I was wondering why my guys insisted on running into the street (and enemy fire). Doh!

  3. I've noticed some similar strangeness with Low Ammo squads. A tank moved up next to 2 of my squads, and even though they both had a 'faust left, neither one would fire. I targeted the tank for 3 or 4 turns in a row, and they just dropped the target each time. The squads were both in good order, and the tank was not firing at them.

  4. I've read the previous thread on using vehicle and gun crews as infantry and why this is not realistic. However, I ran into a situation in one of my games that seemed strange:

    1. One of my mortar crews was out of ammo, and even though an enemy unit moved almost alongside, they did not lay down any defensive fire.

    2. After being pounded on a few turns by the enemy unit, they abandoned the mortar.

    3. After abandoning the mortar, the unit info showed small arms with 15 units of ammo.

    4. The crew started firing at the enemy unit.

Is this really the way it should work? I can see a tactic developing that will have out of ammo mortar teams purposefully moving into harms way so that they will abandon their weapon and gain the small arms ability.

  5. Admittedly I'm just an FNG, but after a few playings of the demo I agree with Tango Yankee. I'd like to see a list of units that I could double click and go to that unit. Maybe even have an 'X' next to the dead units, or just remove them from the list.

I would hope that in real life one of my junior officers would remind me if I had forgotten a unit even existed smile.gif
