  1. When I first put the Mac CD into my G4's drive, the disk showed as "unreadable". At the time I was connected to the web with Outlook Express and IE5.1 running.

I disconnected, quit the applications and re-inserted the CD. Everything was fine after that and the install went smoothly (it took about 60 minutes but it worked).

I left the CD in the drive last night and we will see what happens when I return to it tonight.

  2. I just saw this on the Future Releases section of DVDReview.com. Anyone know anything about it?

World War II: The War In Europe

    1983 · 195 min. · FS · E · Not rated

    Special Interest · Release Date: 12/19/2000 · SRP: 19.95 · UPC #7-33961-7015-55

This classic program tell the epic story of the greatest conflict the world has ever known through expert commentary and graphic combat footage from the famed battles. Directed by Don Horan.

  3. Spoiler---

I went to this scenario first. Phandaal is right, absolutely unbelievable! I had no idea there was going to be this much going on in one battle. Turns took about 90 seconds to process, although the one where the SS infantry and about 10 halftracks charged down the road through the massive artillary bombardment took over 2 minutes on my G4 450.

The AI clobbered me with an overwhelming onslaught. I could play this one scenario and be happy for a long time. Even if my namesake, Cpl. Denette (thanks Fionn & BTS) keeps getting waxed.

  4. How about a piece of shareware that sits in the background and keeps a running total on how many hours you have spent playing CM? It could launch a screen whenever you exit the game saying something like:

"You have been playing CM for XXX hours, please be sure to make contact with your family. I'm sure they are worried."

  5. Hi I also seem to be having a sound problem. I am not getting any sounds at all, I toggle to be sure sound is on (including ambient) but there is none.

    I have a 200Mhz 604e Mac 7500 with 160 megs of RAM running OS 8.5 with an 8meg MacMagic Voodoo I card.

I've double checked the sound control panels and volume but it seems to only be a problem in the demo. Any suggestions?

UPDATE: I increased the memory allocation to 90meg and when the scenario started, I heard about 5 seconds of what I think is ambient sound but then back to silence. I do hear a "beep" though after a turn's film finishes.
