"different" wego system in two player turn based multiplayer mode

Today I accidentally found out that the wego system works different in two player mode then in single player mode. In two player Lan wego mode you can click a unit and see the moving line and can move the dots around during the 1 minute playback. Its stupid because when you made a plan and everything goes wrong you can shorten the moving line and prevent further damage during playback?
