Patch Installationi 101

Summary: The Combat Mission patch does not install itself automatically. You need to decompress the downloaded patch file (cm105.exe) into a folder and then you manually move the contents of that folder into your Combat Mission folder. The patch files for Combat Mission are inside a self-extracting, compressed file that is named cm105.exe. The patch files are compressed in this manner to reduce the time required to download the patch.

Instructions:

Download the self-extracting, compressed file that is named cm105.exe.

Once cm105.exe is on your computer then double click on it. This will cause cm105.exe to run and to transform itself into a folder titled 'cm v105 update'. This folder contains the actual patch files and a set of instructions titled 'README _v105.txt'.

Open the fitle title 'README _v105.txt' by double clicking on it. Then read and follow the instructions (shown below)

Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord v1.05 UPDATE PATCH - Windows

August 24, 2000 www.battlefront.com

This is the version 1.05 update for "Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord". It updates versions 1.0 through 1.04. Please follow these instructions:

1. If your current Combat Mission is version 1.01 or later, skip to step 4.

2. Move the CONTENTS of the "New BMP" directory (10 files with names 1720.BMP through 1729.BMP) into the "BMP" directory, which is located in the existing directory where you installed Combat Mission (which by default is c:\program files\cmbo). Make sure you move the ten files INSIDE "New BMP" into the BMP directory - do not copy the "New BMP" directory itself.

3. Move the 00002080.WAV file into the "WAV" directory. If you originally did a "minimum" install and don't see a "WAV" directory, then just create one.

4. Replace the old "Combat Mission.exe" application file with the new one. IMPORTANT: Remember to hold down the SHIFT key to move the application file - otherwise Windows will only create a "shortcut" instead of moving the file.
