Field
Hi all! First again thanks to the CM team for a great demo! Have not played a demo this much in a long time. Anyway a short question. In the manual it is mentioned that the difference between Iron and Elite modes is that "this option (Iron) introduces a number of interface limitations.." One limitation is mentioned that you need to spot your own units as well on this level, but are there other differences as well as indicated by "number of interface limitations"? I can find out the hard way of course by playing the different modes and compare over time, but someone might have a good answer for this already and it is interesting to know. Cheers!
Drescher
Well, IIRC basically its so that in Iron, if you click on a unit, especially with activated icons, you get an impression of their situational awareness. When you select a unit you see the battlefield how this one unit sees it. Otherwise, again IIRC its the same as Elite. Its an interesting view of the battlefield and it did help me understand how information is passed around the C2 network. If you want you can get even more challenge out of it by only allowing yourself to fire at contacts known to that unit instead of firing at areas other units saw enemy activity. The effect is somewhat reduced during the command phase(and again, IIRC).
Field
Thanks for the clarification! :-) I guess the "interface limitations" refers to this method of spotting and mechanics behind it then. Good idea about the C2 I will try this for sure! Cheers!
