kass Posted September 26, 2002 Share Posted September 26, 2002 I seem to have a bad disk as the installation bombs out at 00093902.wav (I e-mailed Matt). Problem is that when I launch the game, no matter what resolution I choose, I get a black screen for all the menu windows with the music playing. I can back out of the game by guessing where the "quit game" button is, and when I hit it I see the splash screen for just an instant before going back to desktop. I've tried DL'ing the zip files and putting 'em in the folders - no help. I've tried copying the installer to the harddrive - it bombs out at the end. I've tried replacing files from the demo - didn't work. I've tried installing from my CD writer twice and the oddest thing happens. Near the end of the install my screen goes blank with "NO SYNC" displayed. The whole desktop whacks out and I have to re-boot. Demo ran fine. Anybody have any clue what's happening and how I might get some type of usable install short of waiting for a replacement disk? Thanks. I had Quincunx enabled (which obviously doesn't work with this game) and when I switched to 4xS everything looked fine. Thanks again Capt. Miller.
