Drescher
Hi there, i cant install CMSF:Marines on my PC. It used to work, but i had to make a Windows-XP reinstall. There seem to be two problems, for one, once the installation starts, the screen stays black and i get a message: Runtime Error at 1:349, cannot open file blabla/setup.bmp. The funny thing is, when i open the specified temporary folder the bmp is there. I tried to restart the setup program and finally it worked. But now i received a message after installing halfway through that a part of the setupfiles is corrupted. I tried this with an installer i had on my hd and with one i downloaded afterwards. The exact file seems different but i suspect that there is something else going on here. What could this be? A hd failure? Any ideas would be appreciated.
JonCrane
Sounds like a Kaspersky internet security problem. Disable Kaspersky before you do the install of marines & then re-enable afterwards. Seems CM creates a temp directory/file that Kaspersky does not like. Assuming you are using Kaspersky and not some other solution.
Drescher
Yep, Kasperskyuser. Turning it off worked, at least for the missing bmp thing. I still get a corrupted file during installation, its just weird. I have no idea. I get it installed now(by pushing "ignore" when the corrupted file comes up), but there a strange things happening, like no units in scenarios that definately have some in(usermade scenarios that is, the stock ones work). Still clueless...
JonCrane
I'd suggest deinstall CM & Marines, switch off Kaspersky, & then reinstall, & then reenable Kaspersky.
Falconander
Are you running as admin as well? Right click the icon and click 'Run as Admin" TOW would not work for me until I did this....
