Peculiarities / Problems with Scenario Editor

I don't know if this is related to the Bad CD Problem (of which I suffer), but here it is:

When I put together a scenario, save it, then come back to edit it later, I've noticed that terrain features (specifically, steppe and grain) dissappear. I've also noticed that some elevations reset themselves to the default 7.

Then this: When I actually play the scenario, I've noticed that the Officer portrait for armor units doesn't load --- command tanks are represented by the Sgt portrait.

Also, in the scenario listings area, the first letter of the scenario's title is cut off: Instead of "The", it starts off "he" (no it's not a typo on my part).
