cbiddle
Is it possible to play e-mail games between two different platforms (ie: mac/pc)? Thanks to anyone that knows?
L.Tankersley
Yes. There are a few minor hurdles you might encounter. * Most PC users aren't familiar with and can't cope with Stuffit (.sit) format. They could get AladdinExpander to do so (free dl from aladdinsys.com) but it's easier to just send plain text or .zip files. MacZip is a good utility to create and decode .zip files on the Mac. * You can sometimes run into text file encoding problems, as well. This may be more of a mailer issue than a PC-Mac issue, but I've found that encoding files using Base64 seems to work pretty well. ------------------ Leland J. Guest MajorH
>...it's easier to just send plain text or .zip files. In my experience it is safer to always sutff or zip game/orders text file attachments. Some Internet servers (such as AOL) periodically screw up plain text file attachments by adding or deleting special characters. ------------------ Best regards, Major H majorh@mac.com
