Lots of praise to the developers for SC, cant stop playing it, but there are some things that could really improve it

1. supply- landing units without HQs lose all supply the turn after landing- but this didnt happen. The canadian army in SC cant get HQs, and yet in WWII it lasted more then a game turn in SC with supply.

2. amphibious assaults- couldnt there be some kind of transport attack where you land an army or suchlike on an enemy and they battle until one side ones or something? talking of transports, could you be able to build them on their own to get troops out of places such as Ireland?

3. USA- I can understand why the US is small in the game, but its hilarious when you have to invade it. Invading USA- one of the largest countries in the world- limits you to fighting in an area about the same size as Hungary.

4. mmps- surely countries like canada should be able to have their cities & stuff go up to 10, not 5? This should apply especially when the USA join. If not maybe countries could be able to purchace supply convoys which go through sea and act as a land connection between places like UK and Gibraltar?

5. Finland- in WWII, the fins went on for ages. They gave the USSR an impressive fight, and yet I find it impossibly easy to conquer Finland unless Germany lands some troops and an HQ there.

6. HQs- I find it really annoying when HQs are attached to corps garrissoning cities far away when you need them attached to invading armies. Maybe an option that would allow you to permanently attack HQs to units? Giving the ability to attack HQs to minors units would also be good, which would help solve the problem of Finlands easy defeat. Maybe even minor allies HQs, which become available as soon as they join.

7. UK is about the same size as France- when in fact France is three times the size of the UK.

8. There is nowhere near enough time to take Denmark and Norway before attacking France to be realistic.

9. the ability to declare war on anyone would be nice (eg US on UK, or Germany on Italy) even after game over.

That quite a few, but its easy to name things that could be improved whilst looking past what SC is, which is a really great game. Hope you plan to make a sequel for the world theater.

fogot 1 thing:

10. research- you cant increase armies attack against anything, or defence against other armies. This is pretty true- small arms developed little in WWII, with weapons like the BAR being a good development, but hardly war changing. However- what about artillery? They developed in enormous ways, and since you cant build artillery units, I presume theyre assigned to the other armies, corps etc. Maybe an 'advance artillery' research option.

Good points. Except that you state that the Finns "lasted for ages in the war". Not so. In fact, they in 1941 moved a few units into Soviet territory until they met Soviet units at which point they stopped cold and could not move at all. The Germans begged and begged, but the Finns could not or would not budge, not even to help against hero city Leningrad. When Stalin felt that he could spare a few units, the Soviets easily smashed the Finns and rolled forward effortlessly, causing the Finns to beg for peace. The Finns were so embarrassed and so crushed that they completely gave in to Soviet territorial and political demands. The territorial demands were rather harsh (recognition of Soviet gains in Winter War plus) but political demands were rather merciful (permanent neutralization of Finland). But as for the Finns "lasting for ages"--sorry, just not so.

May I also remind you about the slave-trains Finland was forced to send, from its own population, to rebuild Russia after WW2.

Also Stalin was made a Finnish folk hero by a Soviet Ultimatum and he was worshipped as the Sun God, the God of Fertility and the Protector of Children and Young Adults in eastern Finland untill the mid 80s.

Why did Stalin attack Finland? Some say it was to regain Russian territory lost when Finland became independent in 1917. Some say it was to gain a protective zone around Leningrad and a stronger naval position in the Gulf of Finland. In fact, it was to silence that gosh-darned dog in Petsamo who kept barking all night.
