Bullwinkle
As an affecionado of the Eastern Front, this was one game I was anxiously waiting to get. For those who have never heard of it, it is a GRAND strategic game of the Russo/German war. You played as a top general for either side, ordering your subordinate generals to do this and that, occasionally having to placate either Stalin or Hitler while still trying to win the war. I love strategic games (90% of the games marked 'strategic' are really not) and a grand strategic game is even better - especially one that deals with both the military situation and personalities as well. Unfortunately this game was under development by Ubisoft (I think) and then taken over by another company who dropped it. Has anyone heard of it? Is there a ghost of a chance that it might be resurrected???
GDS_STARFURY
I remeber this game and was hoping it would get released. One of the hooks was that it was played out in real time and you could adjust army/division bounderies, supply ect. All that was about 2 or 3 years ago. Dug these up. The first one is rather interesting. http://www.gamesdomain.com/gdreview/zones/previews/mar99/rtmp.html this pic made me cry and wet myself at once! http://www.gamesdomain.com/gdreview/zones/previews/nov98/rtm09.jpg a forum thread http://www.wargamer.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=22&t=000010 http://gamesdomain.hol.gr/gdreview/zones/previews/nov98/rtm.html cute http://www.pisymbol.com/russian_road.htm [ December 06, 2002, 02:13 AM: Message edited by: GDS_STARFURY ]
Yohan
Last I heard it was toast after 2 or 3 different developers. The concept appeared excelent though.
