Bullwinkle
I thought that Moscow was their capital, then the Eastern Urals and finally - perhaps - Stalingrad. Well in a game where I played the Axis (beginner) against the computer (Allies +1) Version 1.04. I took Moscow. The capital was moved to the Urals. I took the Urals. The capital was moved to Stalingrad. I took Stalingrad. And nothing happened. They just kept on fighting. Finally I pushed the Russians down into the oil fields of Ploesti and almost into Turkey. Finally they did throw in the towel. A similar thing once happened when in an earlier game I invaded England, took London and Manchester and they kept on fighting too! What's up with that? I thought that when the capital(s) was taken the country was finished. Any reason for this???
I/O Error
You have to take the capital(s) AND you have to conquer a certain portion of their other cities. Over and above making good sense, I suspect this prevents gamey tactics like concentrating ONLY on the cities where you know a capital can be moved to. Wouldn't that suck? CPROFITT
IT is not the capital and a certain number of cities... it is the capital and a certain % of force they must be below.
I/O Error
You're right and I'm wrong, it even states that in the manual someplace. (But jesus, wasn't this thread several pages back by now? )
