Yes, underwater, they were PzIII, IIRC, with some additional sealing and air suply hose. They where able to submerge some 10-12m underwater. Initially they were developed for "Unternehmen Seelowen" - plan of attacking Great Britan (they where supposed to go across English Chanel). But before Barbarosa started they where deployed in some bridge-less area. Paul Carell in his book states that approximately 80 vehicles croseed Buga river and engaged Soviet forces.
