Publicly traded companies spend much of their time thinking about "shareholders", who often have nothing to do with the product the company is supposedly there to produce. Hence you get MBA types who decide to create Deep Space Nine à la soap opera because it's a tried and true formula, or games-that-I-won't-name that put politically correct considerations ahead of historical accuracy. BTS, keep the money you earn, then sit on it like dragons, don't try to build leverage by watering down your product. Quality got you all those awards.
