The Commissar
Hi guys, Im experiencing a problem with starting up CMBO. I recently reinstalled the game (my hard drive got totally wiped out, have to reinstall everything ), and now that I finally got the 1.5 patch installed back, I try and run the game. I installed it on the maximum size, and the computer gives me the following pop up mssg: "Unhandled Exception" Unhandled exception: c0000005 At adress: 00540515 I click "OK" (the only option given in the mini-window) and the mssg pops up again. I click ok again and another window pops up which says the following: "This porgram has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If problem persists contact the program vender." Well, i certaintly hope somebody can help me! My computer has been down for over 2 weeks and now that I got back on the game doesn't work. You can imagine my frustration. Thanks in advance to all you techies out here! ------------------ "...Every position, every meter of Soviet soil must be defended to the last drop of blood..." - Segment from Order 227 "Not a step back"
The Commissar
BTW - I tried running the game on smaller installs and with the older patches. Same result. Just something that maybe make this problem a bit more clear. Thanks again! ------------------ "...Every position, every meter of Soviet soil must be defended to the last drop of blood..." - Segment from Order 227 "Not a step back"

Guest TOBRUK
Hi Commissar, I had them same problem many months ago. I never was sure what it was; it seemed to happen mostly after I came down form the web. It may also be interference from a security or firewall program. It was inconvenient because it required a 'restart' on the computer but that always solved it. I haven't had the problem for some time now, so I don't think you need to worry that is something serious, like your hard drive, etc. Wish I could be more help. Guest Madmatt
The fix is an install of Direct X 7.0a. When you re-installed Windows (which I assume you did) it put DX6 on not DX 7. While CM can run on 6 it really prefers 7. You can get that right from this link: http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/Forum1/HTML/012208.html Madmatt
