All you need to do is create a new directory or folder, place copies of all the bitmap (.bmp) files into that new folder. Then, apply the mod. Try to load the game and play. If it works, great. If it doesn't, take the copies you placed in the new folder, and put them back where you originally got them. Your game should run again, with the original bitmaps. I believe in that thread they mentioned that the mods would work for those vehicles that were included in the demo.
