Pirate Bill Posted August 23, 1999 Share Posted August 23, 1999 What's the deal with aircraft? Are they controlled as standard units? Do you just say 'send air strike to point x'? Is air support totally automated and out of your control? Aircraft seem to play a major role in the game, but I haven't been able to find much info about them. Guest Big Time Software Posted August 23, 1999 Share Posted August 23, 1999 I would not say tht aircraft play a major role in the game. They're included, but most scenarios don't have them. Aircraft are not under player control for historical reasons. A typical company (or even battalion) commander would often, though not always, know if he had air support available, but it was quite rare that he would have a specific time point provided or that he could designate individual targets (except perhaps in cases where the target is really obvious, like a lone tank in an open field, but the pilots in CM will aim for targets like that on their own).
