Chris Jenkins
Since a German company headquarters is twelve men, why is the marker only one? A nine-man squad loses one figure per three men, shouldn't the headquarters be the same way? ------------------ Climb to Glory!
Guest Big Time Software
The number of figures is for game conventions as well as speed concerns; Squads = 3 (or 2 for more speed) Teams = 1 HQs = 1 This way you can easily tell what units are what, even from a distance. And HQs aren't nearly as big as you think. Here is a German Rifle Platoon HQ: 1 Officer (or NCO for 2nd and 3rd Plt), 5 privates. Weapons were 1 LMG, 4 Rifles, 1 SMG, 2 pistols. So, a Platoon HQ has 6 men? Well, yes and no. It has six MEN, but not six FIGHTING MEN. At least two guys, probably 3, were needed to take care of the two horse drawn wagons assigned to the HQ. Since these vehicles were for tending the platoon, and not transporting, we aren't including them. This leaves the HQ with either 3 or 4 men (roughly 1/3 squad). The same type of thing is true for the Company HQ as well. More men, but more non-combat slots. Pretty interesting, huh? Steve
