From what I know - that is a bug. I'm not sure why this is happening with T-64 model. At this moment in time - I'm not interested in doing stuff for Black Sea. That might change within time - but generally speaking I'm a bit tired of it. Did to many mods on it.

I can understand that, you had a ton of them ha, makes sense, appreciate the response - best!

Coming back t gaming after ten years away, I bought CMBN and some add-ons and have been very pleased with the value.  Only roblem is that I am now addicted to CM youtube videos instead of actually playing.

Hahaha, found myself watching the entire series of unit showcases, one poster has every unit for every game displayed, he did an awesome job!

Spending all your time in bocage country is really not what happens in CMBN. CMBN + Commonwealth was my intro to CM in general, and I recall many battles that had no bocage at all. This only is more true if you buy the Market Garden add-on. There are over 900 maps if you buy the entire collection and while there are plenty of bocage maps to satisfy those who want to slog through the early days after d-day, there are even more that have no bocage at all.

Dang it man, now you have me wanting it more so, LOL!

  4. I bought the CMSF2 with all of the modules, everything was going great until I downloaded the demo for CBBN, damn, this is very likely the best looking and most polished game in the entire battlefront series. Everything about it's good, other than CONSTANTLY fighting through bocage 24x7, haha. I like the look of the maps much more, better overall foliage to hide and conceal troops, tanks and such appear much more detailed, higher quality textures and soldiers appear to be tremendously more responsive, could be me, though they appear to be more organic feeling. Great mix of nations and equipment. I have a date with destiny someday for this game...wished it was now. In terms of overall quality and enjoyment I would rank my experiences so far: (1) CMBN, (2) CMBS, (2A), CMSF2, I believe CMBS is incredible in its own right, just too narrowly focused in comparison to the other two.

What I've been doing for folks that have a Paradox version of the base game is issuing them a Battlefront key with proof of purchase. If they own any modules I shoot them a new key (who would buy the modules if they didn't own the base game, right?). If they only own the retail base game I ask for a photo of the case with a note showing their name and/or date and use that as proof of purchase.

Appreciate it, definitely worked for me and I ended up buying the upgrade and all of the modules!

My take you will not want to play CMSFx after CMBS :) It feels like being teleported ten years back with very rudementary TacAI reactions. Though having CMSF1 and not upgrading it to CMSF2 is kinda lame now IMO. Upgrade price is really modest if you compare it to an all-new purchase.

I ended up upgrading to CMSF2 with all of the expansions, though CMBS is still my favorite of the two, just wanted to own and play both.

  7. Thanks guys, opened a ticket tonight, I recently purchased a new physical version of CMSF1, version 1.0 with the booklet and map. I played the game today and it worked fine, I installed patches to 1.32 and now it's asking for an E License Key, which the version I have does not come with a key, it's playable at 1.0 though not when patched due to the activation requirement. Requesting a key from support, then I plan to upgrade to CMSF2. Thanks for the responses.

  8. Just recently purchased a new physical version CMSF1, 1.0, came with the booklet and map, played 1.0, base install and everything was fine, until I downloaded the patches to 1.32. Afterwards, I was locked out of the game, it was requesting an E License key, which the physical version 1.0 doesn't come with, think this changed with the shipment of version 1.2, IIRC. Now, I've got a coaster. Submitted a ticket for an activation code, though have to say this process is frustrating to say the least. Anyone else experience/experiencing this?

  9. It would great if you could get modules outside the scope of this conflict to introduce additional armies into the mix, would be a boon for everyone, devs and consumers. Would also be nice to see SOF and other unconventional units mixed in to a degree. Can you imagine how cool Merkavas would look for example in this engine, would be fantastic...

I did a quick check (which was great fun, BTW). If you do a QB purchase from 'infantry only' there's no transport for for the MT-12. If you're doing a 'mixed' fight and have access to mech infantry the gun comes with its own transport. Or you can purchase a separate vehicle for towing.

You're in better luck than with some WWII guns. WWII 88s and AA autocannons can't be shifted at all. The big wheeled 88 Pak 43/41 can be moved (slowly) by its crew but there's no transport robust enough to tow it.

Definitely noticed a lot of these small intricacies to try out, thanks for the heads-up! AA autocannons are great if you get them at the right elevation for infantry suppression.

Do you purchase them in formations or stand-alone? If purchased as part of the formation the prime mover comes with the gun. But you can limber the gun to any primer mover even if it's not part of the same formation.

I was getting them as stand-alones, figured out, now I'm getting MTLBs and other vehicles to move them, like that you have some options to work with.

  12. Thanks for the responses, for now, just going to stick with CMBS, kind of like the setting better any ways. I bought CMSF1 on DVD, because I thought it would have a code to download the game, instead you have to use the disc which is unfortunate, I don't have a drive. Saw on these forums where it supposedly comes with a code on the CD case, definitely not the case - I purchased it brand new.

What do you mean by towed artillery? Are you talking about the MT-12?

Yes, when I purchase it, shows up on the map with a few soldiers and no prime mover to move it across the map. IMHO referenced the MTLB which makes sense will look for that as an option.

  14. I picked this up a week or so after trying the demos for CMBS and CMSF2, I like this setting better, especially from a terrain and concealment perspective. The TO&E for the later is more flushed out, though I just couldn't get past the desert setting, and the cost, $125 is a lot of coin, haha. I noticed the towed artillery in this game just shows up on the map without a prime mover, is this by design or what? Troops pack in the limbers and move it manually though they CONSTANTLY get stuck on any type of foliage, it's frustrating to watch. I was somewhat disappointed that air assets are not observable in any type of way, takes away from the aesthetic immersion, would be cool for example to see an Orlan 10 scouring around the battlefield.
