I advocate running it down center, in true Russian fashion. Dead ground is nice, but better yet is throwing your mass as tightly as possible against a section of his line, and then exploiting your breakthrough. It'd be even better if you could throw your artillery at him just before you smash him with your mechanized attack.

How/where Bil employs his indirect fire assets will define this fight for sure. Could go either way, but if Bil's fire support whiffs by not doing enough damage, he's gonna get rolled IMO.

Soviet Campaign - This one ‘may’ have two versions but I will save that surprise for later. Set also in ‘82 it follows the 120th MRR in the first 48 hours of the war from the West German Border (near Mansbach) through to the outskirts of Alsfeld. Right up front this will be the hardest campaign, the Soviets are primarily in BTRs/T62s (but the 120th does have a BMP Bn) against top notch 11 ACR and 3rd Armd Div troops.
I'm already starting to work on researching the 11th ACR and its deployment, plans, OOB, etc.... Reason being, I want to write at least a scenario from their perspective, if no a campaign. My father was a Cav Scout in the 11th in this exact time period. He likes to make the joke that he would have been pointman for WW3. Considering it seems as if CM:CW will come out in April, I may even have it in time to show him for his birthday.
Wish me luck! But also any reading material ya'll can recommend would be nice as well.

I'd be up for it. We're already embroiled in a CMFB PBEM, why not an SF2 one when the demo comes out?

Exactly what it says on the title -- will the Demo be MP capable (PBEM)? I want to try out the game in the new engine ASAP, and I'll enjoy it either way (I'm refreshing the Battlefront page as often as I think of it, which is about 1 million times a day). It'd be cool if I could PBEM with a friend I'm trying to tempt into Combat Mission.

Hello.
Recently, I've been trying (multiple times) to start PBEM matches for Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg. My video drivers are current, I run Win7.
I can play scenarios and campaigns in CMFB. However, the PBEM save I receive (regardless of opponent, or what faction I am playing) in which I'm deploying my own forces, I crash when the loading screen reaches 25%. This is usually File 004.
I'd attach the most recent file, but it's bigger than 1.95 MB, and the forum won't allow me.
