Correct nobody's charging $60 for an upgrade but some people clearly think that. Or they incorrectly structured their sentence - which is probably the most likely scenario.

Which is worse not property connecting the dots for one's argument or using incorrect sentence structure when speaking of prices? I'll let the grammar police and the logic police argue it out. :D

Any English grammarian in the room?

"charging per Operation 60 bucks and for upgrades is a bit strange"  I'd venture to say this sentence is not grammatically wrong nor ambiguous.

"Charging"  is acting on both the following propositions that are separated by a conjunction. The per 60 bucks is qualifying only the operations.

  2. I tried to get into GT Operation Star and Mius Front (I have both).  I still play them on occasion but tactical combat is lackluster. Combat Mission is king when it comes to tactical combat.

The appeal in GT with the AI lessening micromanagement is there and it is a plus, but I feel like the game is abstracted too much. It becomes almost like an arcady simulation with mortars setting up and firing at a moments notice etc. Even on "simulation setting".

The strategic map doesn't really add much in GT either.

Combat Mission is the better game in my opinion, albeit the micromanagment in the bigger scenarios can make it a chore. I wish there were a way to give general orders to an AI computer to at least advance etc in formation instead of indivudally clicking and placing units, but oh well.

No idea what you base that fear on. The number of people I see on multiple forums and who possess all the games and modules seems as healthy as ever.

I literally signed up to add to this thread.

A few friends of mine and I play Combat Mission Red Thunder but we never bothered to sign up in the forum. More of my friends played the older combat mission titles especially Barbarossa to Berlin. They didn't want to dish out the 60 plus bucks for specific theater/operation games of the same engine because they were used to the vast span of Barbarossa to Berlin. Can't blame em. I only like the Eastern Front and decided to buy Red Thunder years ago. And yes I updated to the new version 4.0 .

I understand the business model but not being on steam and charging per Operation 60 bucks and for upgrades is a bit strange, even in hardcore wargaming community- read- Gary Grigsby's, Graviteam tactics etc.  I hope it gets a Vistula winter Operation DLC.
