Computer controlled side can't use area fire.
Sad news... If it was possible to use target commands while making AI plans I'm sure the AI would be far more lethal !

Being french and therefore having to deal with the " white flag, fleeing surrender monkey " our dear "allies" repeat continually, I never reload or give up ^^
This is a good thing because you indeed learn much more from a defeat !

I did the first 5 scenarios and only won 2 on first try (iron). But each were epic fights ! Finished "Brutal" scenario yesterday and it was for me maybe the best defensive scen I've played in CM.
There's one thing that would help the AI a lot I think (if possible). It would be the use by AI of "blind" supressive fire on key areas.
For exemple, in brutal scenario, I had mid game at least 10 russian vehicles overwatching the town for more than 5 minutes. But none of them fired a single round while overwatching and then died when they entered the town (ambushed by my hidden RPG teams). If those vehicles had supressed (blindly) most of the buildings they could see from their overwatch positions it would have been a lot harder for me.
I'll try this idea in the scen editor and report if this work well.
Anyway, AI is better than most other similar games !

ok, but which sounds exactly do you write? Most of them are authentic, so they sound artillery shells just before hitting the ground (in the direct distances) - the only thing there is to improve it sounds for artillery - 105 - 120mm, must be longer and a little muted
For me there's no other problems than some of the arty sounds being too short indeed. Medium 2 and medium 3 (files names) for exemple.
The rest is great and I couldn't play BS without your mod.
The flak sound for incoming jets is excellent !

I think the balance between graphics and depth of gameplay is alright.
Many things calculated in CM are CPU intensive like balistic for every bullets.
Like Imperial Grunt I would prefer nicely modeled destructible terrain buldings and vehicles rather than "new" graphics.
At least few more states between an intact building and a collapsed one for exemple.
It would improve the blocky and not so lively look of the urban maps indeed !
Oh and the black smoke effect for the burning vehicles could be improved without impacting performance too much I think.
Anyway, CM is the best tactical wargame by far !

Tried it and it's even better than your Shock Force version. It has a "nice" WW3 feeling.

The setting is very interesting indeed ! Reminds me some missions in Company of Heroes.
Just a side note, being french I suggest to name the mission "Merveilles à Merville". We never use "la merveille" to describe those kinds of events but "merveilles" (plural).
But it's just a suggestion ^^

I love the map and the setting !
Just want to add that Rocketman did indeed an amazing work on this scen to be as historical as possible. Really serious work that will please many I think !
