  1. While on the attack, against prepared defensive positions, I used a squad of engineers to blow a hole in some barbed wire to clear a blocked bridge. The explosives went off as expected, but what I wasn't expecting was every single member of the squad getting blasted with it.

If this isn't a bug (I'm trying to think of how it could be, considering how many times I've blasted before in CM without issue), is there any situation anyone here knows of that could cause this?

There's an imgur link to screenshots of it. One interesting thing with this is that the two man scout team next to the engineers were unharmed.

  2. Seeing the all the references to Red Dawn reminds me of my own plan to make scenarios or a campaign of a bogus Russian invasion of the US East Coast (an excuse to make maps near my home). Would love to see a fight to take Three Mile Island.

I just need to figure out how to use the map editor well. I'm going to give TMI a try right now, and see what happens.

  3. The autocannon armed version will likely be a better choice for direct fire support, both as a dedicated platform, and as a "upgun" Stryker modification.

As far as Black Sea goes, the autocannon on the battle taxi was a good move for the Russians. Those BTR-80s and 82s with the 30mm cannons have caused so much pain in my time playing.

  4. I think that actually was a positive response.  At least I choose to take it that way in lieu of anything telling me different.

Yeah, those changes all look like good things

I've been playing QBs with a buddy, and was hoping for some of those bullet points (rarity on APS, cost change for crap vs shiny and new vehicles). It sounds like QBs should be a lot more fun, especially as the Ukrainians, if the old BMP-2 and BTR-70 are more useful for the cost.

  5. I played against someone once, who used fraps to take a screenshot of the map from above. He then drew out his plan on the image. It was pretty cool, and I find myself doing it every now again.

If you could get the image file onto a tablet, with some drawing functions (not sure what's available for tablets, as far as software goes), then you'd at least have something.
