Where's that? the only downloads I can see are under my 'Orders' and they are the CMBN Engine 3 Big Bundle,from 2014 (which Ive downloaded) and the two upgrades mentioned above. Upgrade 3,seems to be v3.12 and Upgrade 4 surprise surprise is for 4 (but I keep getting that 'The file does not have an app associated with it for performing the action....' error mssg when i try to open it). Im stumped.

Hi guys n gals,
Just reinstalled CMBN on my new PC after many years away in the wilderness. I have a few questions though, after dowloading 3.12 again I noticed I had Upgrade 3 and 4 in my shopping basket too ($10 each), and for the life of me I cant remember what they are? Should I install them again? Also Ive noticed the game engine is now ver 4, but everytime I try to open the RAR file i get the following error mssg 'The file does not have an app associated with it for performing the action....' .Please bear in mind Im not the most tech savy person, so what exactly does that mean? I have 7-Zip, so I take it its not that?

Because I haven't played CM in a loooong while, I'd forgotten that you needed to activate whatever module you've purchased. I didnt have the 'activate module' shortcut on my desktop so I had to do it by going into the games root folder and activating it there. I did have to re activate the v3.12 again though before I could activate v4.0. I now have the 'activate module' shortcut on my desktop which should make things a lot simpler in future.

Just downloaded the 4.0 upgrade for CM BFN (for Windows). Unfortunately when I try to run the game a red box appears over the main menu saying 'License failure-base game 4.0 is required.Please run the Activate New Products utility and enter the license key...'
Ermmm I have downloaded the base game (v4.0, 4gig?) and the Activate New Products page asks me to put a ticket in. What the flip?
I have CM Battle for Normandy BIG BUNDLE and CM Normandy v 3.0 upgrade installed.

Been away for ages and want to update my CM BN (Big Bundle) to version 3.0 (with the master installer etc). How do I do this as I cant find a link anywhere?
Do I have to uninstall everything and reinstall again? Cheers m'dears!
Edit- Found the link to the v3 upgrade, so do I download this before the master installer?

They were piling up even before they were fired upon. :confused: Must be dodgy AI pathfinding. We cant have it all I guess.

Yes, What Phil and womble said. I've done this many times although never with armor and a reverse order. The best way to prevent this is to turn on the movement paths of all your units. This wont prevent you from doing this again but it will show the orders off all the units affected and if you're paying attention then you can correct the situation before disaster strikes. I can't remember the specific hotkey but look in the hotkeys section after pressing the Menu button.
Alt-P I think.

Whats the best way for infantry squads to cross footbridges? Even a straight waypoint from one end of the bridge to the other results in a messy mid bridge pileup and inevitable death by machine gun fire! Any tips would be appreciated!

Im sure I've read somewhere on here that ammo bearers are platoon specific. If so, is there a way to order/tag whole platoons around without having to individually order squads within them around? This would be especially useful at the start of a battle on a large map. As I do find it a bit of a chore having to sort them all out by 'hand' so to speak.

Thanks for all the answers and advice guys. Agreed, the learning curve is quite steep (its been years since I played CM.BB). But so far I'm loving it. Only a few niggles at the start, such as how do you move your squads/teams around on the setup screen? Also, there seem to be many more infantry squad types now compared to CM.BB, such as mortar and MG Ammo bearers, how on earth do you use them properly?
So many questions lol!
I have skimmed through the manual, played the first two tutorials and watched a handful of videos online but I still feel like I've barely broken the surface when it comes to this.
Feels good to be playing CM again though, I honestly thought the franchise had ceased to exist after the release of BB! I just happened to be clearing out my attic when I found my copy of CM.BB and just out of curiosity put it into Google and...well..here I am. CM is indeed alive and kicking!

Im sold, BN Bundle it is! One more question though, please bear in mind Im a bit of a novice when it comes to computers, Im thinking of getting the downloaded version. Could I place a copy to an external hard drive as a backup in case this tempremental PC of mine packs up? Or are you allowed unlimited amount of downloads on the same PC ( i.e like GamersGate)? Cheers once again!

Thanks Erwin. I might wait until the extra features of CMRT are released for CMBN at some point, as I do have more of an interest in this part of the war. (This is happening right?).

Im thinking of buying CM:BN + Commonwealth bundle. It says the engine version is 1.0. Isn't this supposed to have version 2.0? :confused:

Got it updated to v 4.0 at last! I was over thinking it I think! Thanks for your input Erwin. Ahhh.......v4 seems to have a slew of bugs. Lol I shall persevere!
