  1. Kudos to Imperial Grunt on his campaign "Task Force Spartan Resolve".  I've had a blast playing his campaign.  I got all the way to the last mission and had major computer problems so picked up a new computer and started it all over again.  Still having a blast even if I do know a little more about the enemy whereabouts.

I like Combat Mission for the campaigns and this is one of my favorites.  Thanks for all your hard work it is greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to the new Bulge game and more campaigns.

  2. Playing as the US I have a COLT unit (M1200 Armored Knight) with a Laser Designator.  How is the best way to use this unit?  I'm guessing it has to have LOS to call in artillery?  Can it call in air strikes? Does the unit have any advantages over JTAC and regular FOs?

    Thanks for the help.

  3. When I play a scenario, campaign, or a QB and I've got a US company (happens with German mortars too) I've noticed the 60mm mortar teams (happens with 81mm too) start out with quite a bit of rounds when first deployed. If I move the motors the number of rounds decreases (I can even play around with the direction of the motors and the numbers of rounds will decrease). Ant idea why this happens? I've had cases where I start out with 64 rounds and I move the mortars with the company as it advances and the number of rounds drops to 32 without firing a shot. Could this have to do with stockpiling at the beginning and not being able to take it with you.

Second question. I'm having trouble understanding what the HQ unit is good for that is attached to the 4th Platoon of US companies. I've tried to use them with the 30 caliber MGs as they move forward to keep them in C&C with the platoon but that does not work. The MGs also seem to be out of C&C. If you move the 4th Platoon with the MGs then your 60mm mortars are out of C&C even if you leave the HQ unit with the mortars. Any ideas on how to use this unit.

    Thanks.

  4. Is there any way to combine depleted units. For example I have a rifle platoon and 2 of the 3 squads are down to 3 and 4 men. I would like to combine these 2 squads into 1 squad. In a campaign or longer scenario where squads get worn down I think this would help give the new squad a little more cohesion and effectiveness . Probably not realistic to do this during a battle between different platoons or companies but within the same platoon I believe would help and not be out of the norm.

If you can't do this has it ever been considered.

    Thanks.
