There was a nasty memory leak in the ATI Catalyst 9.10 drivers tickled by CMSF that's fixed in release Catalyst 9.11 as far as I can tell with my 4950.

[First impressions]

I solved all these issues by switching from a 8800 gt to a ATI 4890 card (catalyst 9.10) a few weeks ago, now issues #1 and #3 are fixed..

I did the same, to 9.10 beta, to get beyond the opengl breakage. For what it's worth Catalyst 9.11 is up but I haven't screwed up the courage to ditch a working driver.
