Hi, reply from our Level Designer.
First of all try to lower resolution of your textures from 300 dpi to 72 dpi, then check path to minimap.tga in minimap.mat. If there will be problems after it I’d like to see those textures myself. Can you send me them or may be even the whole map via e-mail?

a) I patched my TOW 1.10.0.81 up to JSH 1.3.5 and all the single missions, and their explanation texts (by now useless) show up in Russian. Untill 1.3.2 it was English, but now it's all in Russian. Only the missions I made are in English.

Fix Only the English version. You have a French version of the game. Names of missions will be in English.
+name of new units does not appear ( ? )
Rename folder 'en' in data\local to 'fr' . But the names of the new units will be in English.

No, this is the full version. Instal a clean game with the latest patch. See Readme.
2. Will I have to restart my campaign, or will I be able to keep playing my existing game?

Данный ролик был сделан по мотивам советского художественного фильма "Экипаж машины боевой", а фильм в свою очередь по мемуарам ветерана ВОВ Александра Милюкова. По этой ссылке текст отрывка из мемуаров (на русском). А здесь можно посмотреть сам фильм (собственно дуэль с 46:40 ).
Просьба относится к ролику как к художественному произведению, а не как к документальному фильму.
Но также хочется сказать, что и реальности и в нашей игре данная ситуация, конечно маловероятна , но возможна.У Пантеры как раз уязвим к огню 76мм орудия, нижний лобовой лист толщиной 65мм, особенно если корма танка провалится как в фильме .
